Me finally coming back to this ship after 6 months and getting a 100k match: Perhaps I treated you too harshly
It can be a very good and fun ship when it behaves!
9:53 correction: she was laid down first as a Battlecruiser, then the Washington naval treaty happened and they started converting her into a CV along with her only remaining sister, Akagi. The class was supposed to have 5 ships iirc. Then the great Kento Earthquake happened and damaged her still opened hull, she was still under construction, beyond repair, so they recovered everything they could from her and used her parts to convert the Tosa class battleship Kaga into a CV, which makes Akagi and Kaga Step/half-sisters which is pretty rare.
Since this is the BB line that I am currently grinding, it's been nice to see what, how, and when I can do certain things in Nagato and Amagi.
Once againi will say, I appreciate the time you take, the content and breakdown on these ships as well as the advice you give. Hope your day goes well! ✌🏻👍🏻

Just got the Amagi the other day. My first game in it I don't remember the map but I spawned far right side of the map with a North Carolina and a Hipper. We were up against a Indianapolis B, A Segrefeid, and a Surrey. We desomated them even with our North Carolina being AFC the entire game. However after killing the Segrefeid because he pushed into the cap and taking half the Indianapolis's health our hipper was torpedoed by the Surrey because he was hiding around the corner of an island and the hipper pushed. I than killed the Surrey and the Indianapolis and began to go support my demolished team. I was fighting a Georgia and a Benham. A Indianapolis pushed over to me at some point. I wanted him to push with me because I knew the Benham would torp me and the Georiga was going to push Broadside around the corner of an island. However he didn't push up with me in time and after I killed the Georiga I hit an island to avoid the torpedos from the Benham However he recognized my plan and he knew I couldn't move and even though I took most of his health before he launched the Torpedoes that would kill me because the Indianapolis didn't push with me I died and we lost the match. However I finished top of the team with 105,000 damage 2 or 3 kills and a base cap. So....
Amagi was designed and Build but a Earthquake said no to amagi and destriyed the whole ship in dock. Akagi the Sistership of Amagi got fully build so 1 Amagi class got build.
@@jome2284 u sir are totaly wrong.... both are planned to be Battlecruiser as in Game but... the Washington Naval treaty maked it Happen that Akagi got Converted to a Carrier but still has the Classification Amagi Class. As same for Kaga what still is the Tosa Class. Amagi is a Unlucky destiny since it was a Earthquake amagi was planned to be a Carrier then too... soo in General. Akagi is still the Amagi class Carrier instead of Amagi class Battlecruiser.
I’m not sure what kinda luck I’ve gotten but I have gotten 5 premium ships dropped in random crates in the last week. Bought that three big crate daily special in the store today for 750 doubloon and got 35k Global XP, De Grasse and the Eastern Dragon in it. Got the Mutsu B and the Iwaki the other day. Also got the Exeter at some point this week. Thought that was kinda funny. That treasure hunt thing is pretty cool.

You know what could be an interesting video spartan? If you have seen those tier lists people do on stuff, try doing something like that with all tier 7s based on your opinion and experience.

The amagi is a great ship to kite with. The armor is very effective when sailing away at an angle. I always move far ahead turn behind a island and then start kiting.
Plus most of your firepower is at the rear.

Amagi was actually built although during the process of converting the ship into a carrier the ship got scrapped I think because of the Washington Naval Treaty

I can’t stand that ship, not because it’s bad, but because it’s too good. Incredibly overpowered, just like the okachav or however you spell it. The only ships that have any counter to those ships are the Nelson, vanguard, and conqueror. Fires shred battleships otherwise and they’re nothing more than giant floating damage farms especially to cruisers they just overpen. That’s why I love the British ships, they make HE spam worthless, and the short fused guns while they don’t do the damage against battleships they’ll get rid of menaces like that real quick. They’ve quickly become my favorite line of ships, and can’t wait to unlock conqueror
@@WitsEndFL if only you can hit that it. You can shoot the most powerful He at ochakov and if you don't it the ship it's useless. If you see me in ochakov you might aswell give up that game. But you can easily kill suzuya with Ap. That ship is very easy to citadel. Extremely easy to citadel
@@Bluepie410 the ochakov is also a very easy citadel don't fool yourself it's a far larger ship and easier to hit if anything, both are floating citadels that you need to be very careful with and play the rudder shifting game
@@WitsEndFL British bb ap against battleships still does massive damage there's no excuse to be an he slinger in those ships unless people are angled or you're in kgv, even the Nelson and conquerors ap will get you much better games then with their (also very powerful) he which is good for deleting destroyers and knocking out torpedo tubes

I find the best way to use amagi is in reverse, angle against ships.

So that explains the reason for nerf i was told that it had equal accuracy to the iowa & with it had a high win rate for least amount of people palying that ship compared to the iowa
Yeah it was played mostly by people who were very good at the game. Average everyday players generally did not like the Amagi so they didn't play it so the better stats from good players inflated the numbers and earned her the Nerf Hammer.
Iowa was much more popular and so her stats were balanced out you still had really good players playing it, but you also had 2 or 3 for every good player that would sail around broadside every match and get deleted so it made the Iowa not look as strong as the Amagi even though it was better in every way with exception to turning
I've discovered the HE hits really hard and does 10k salvos reliably :)

Hey I was able to get alot better dispersion on my Iowa I put reload mod on for 2 games then put plotting room back on and had way better dispersion and ended up getting 2 back to back krakens and 16 citdels 8 per game .not sure that will help u with Iowa but please try it and let me know also great video and series 👍
I realized sometimes the builds need to be reset cuase at times it feels like sharny and Cunningham make it worse so evey now and then I reset the build and put it back to dispersion and I get that Lazer beam accuracy Iowa used to be known for

I got to the amagi a long time ago but I don't see them a lot on battles and a lot of people think this ships sucks so i haven't bought it

surprised ypu didn't mention Robert jaujard as a inspiration. Amagi used to be a reliable ship but since they nerfed it at the end of the first year it has moved to the bottom of my tier 7 battleships due to its inaccuracy and general unreliable dispersion.
Its accuracy is better since the nerf. That being said yeah it doesn't get played much even by me. I dont use Extra Pen on BBs they dont usually need it imo
@@SpartanElite43 I will have to dust the cobwebs out and give it a try again. I remember at the beginning it used to be a monster of a ship. I like using Jaujard as a inspiration cause I found when bbs are angled and facing a higher tier bb it would do more damage. that could probably be a perception thing also

My first Tier 7 in this game, i adore this ship and im german, but it has unfortunatly some big flaws , the turtle back doesnt work consistently, its 32 all over so he spamming really hurts this ship alot and the healthpool is to low....other than that i really like it.
But man when the guns Behave it can be so much fun!

It Was never built, it Was supposed to be, but it Was damaged during an earth Quake and then the idea of making it an aircraft carrier came up but it wasnt finished either

@@ParkHillProjects technically that means it was built, and also amagi's hull was completed and launched so technically amagi was launched in 1925, but then was scrapped a couple years later from the great kanto earthquake

Am I the only one concerned about how the developers decide which ship to buff or nerf. I mean shouldn’t they know by the stats they give the ship how strong it is and not based on how people play with it. Not nerfing a strong ship because noobs play it too because it’s so strong and not buffing a weak ship because only pros play it makes no sense to me.

Champagne is just a bit too Squishy for me. It can be amazing if people dont shoot you though

@@jome2284 firstly you can't get it anymore, and yes its really a challenging ship to play, you always have to be far away and try to avoid directly facing other bbs, but its gun are the best at tier 7, most accurate ones its really easy to get 10k per salvo even on angled ships, but as i said its hard and often frustrating because of its squishyness but i've rarely been more satisfied to put a 200k game with any other ship
Sadly we don't get them boosts via capture etc we just get the one via recruit and is always a random pick...but is what it is..........
