    i think this bucket attachment for an Excavator is a great idea, however, i do think it needs a "little" more adjustment. this isn't a "hateful" comment but just an observation. i think the bucket should have had a more secure attachment to the Excavator blade something like the quick attach for skid steers. and, since an Excavator's front blade will lift up maybe two feet, if this bucket had some kind of "hinge" on it that would allow it to stay attached to the blade but tilt forward to "dump" the dirt in it while the blade was raised to the max height, that would allow the Excavator to actually carry and "dump" dirt where wanted. i don't think the idea of using this bucket to unload or load a truck is of any value as the Excavator's bucket is MUCH more efficient in doing this task. just my two cents...

    This is actually a great idea, smaller job sites you wouldn’t to bring the skid steer to transport materials across the yard plus you can carry more in the bucket, would pay for itself in saved equipment transport costs in a year....

    I can see it being a great counter weight for zero turn machines.

    Don't listen to the Nay sayers here....I have the patent on the kubota hercules attachment. I get tons of critical posts. Whatever you find works for you is a great tool to have! The critics can't see advancements in productivity even when it is shown on video. I would ask how often does the bucket come off the blade by accident or how often have you dropped that bucket while loading a truck?

    • @bladebuddy5593
      @bladebuddy5593  Před 6 lety +2

      Hi Bob, thanks for the positive feedback ! To adresse your question, the only time it has lifted slightly off the blade is when the driver would try to scoop a pile of frozen dirt. No one has dropped the bucket while loading a truck as we instruct to curl the bucket and lock the thumb.

    • @TheWallsocket
      @TheWallsocket Před 5 lety +2

      The blade is meant for backfilling trenches. It’s not meant for bulldozing / cutting into compacted ground, but pushing loose dirt is what it’s there for.

      @cropper7559 Před 5 lety

      @Ethan Robison Yes I have operated excavators for several hundred hours. I don't know about you but I don't feel like replacing the drive motors every month. Of course i get it that you can push small amounts of material without damaging the drive motors but it's not meant for bulldozing or pushing big piles of material

    • @keithscott9774
      @keithscott9774 Před 5 lety

      I've got a Cat 301.8 and I've had to replace the tiny drive pinion in the final drives. I was shocked at how tiny the male/female splined joint was, only about 10mm in diameter and 10mm engagement length. Of course it wore out. Cat only sold complete final drives at a price of A$4000 each so it would have cost me A$8000 just to replace the final drives. Luckily I managed to find a mob in the UK that supply aftermarket internal parts. Plus I'm quite good mechanically and stripped down the final drives myself to do the repairs so got away with a total cost of about $800. Let's just say I was a lot more careful what stress I gave to the final drives with pushing, etc. Yeah, an excavator is definitely not a bulldozer but that bucket attachment would be handy for carrying materials and dirt.

    • @bobm6527
      @bobm6527 Před 6 lety +2

      You would be wrong about that. That cylinder can support the full weight of the machine when using the blade to level the machine while digging. There is a pressure valve specific to that cylinder that does need to be adjusted on the Kubota for it to lift more capacity. It is adjusted from the factory to have max down pressure, but "give" if a rock or stump lands on it. It is a very simple adjustment and then it will lift well over a ton of material.

      Tiltrotators are nice attachments but can only accommodate the attachment for that excavator size, this bucket looks like it could load more material for the excavator size. This also is an extremely cost effective alternative because there aren’t any auxiliary hydraulics required. A tiltrotator is designed for a different purpose and again can only carry attachments that fit the size of excavator. The blade buddy looks that it could haul the load of a pretty well sized excavator.
