- It is fun shredding packaging in this way. I have a strong paper shredder that can handle thick stuff. This is the Fellowes 99ci, which is an 18 sheet shredder.

Do you know a shredder that will do the double wall cardboard that you would recommend over the 99CI? Also, is it easy to open the top of the 99Ci like you have in the videos or did you have to do some changes to the electrical stuff to have it be open? I tried to open my Ativa shredder like this and it had safety connections to override. Thanks in advance for reply! Love the Videos!!!
Yes, you have to jam something into the safety which is normally triggered by a tab on the lower case when it's together. And the top snaps onto the bottom so it takes some confident but careful prying. I've popped it off dozens of times. It won't do the double wall cardboard. This is a 17 sheet shredder and I guess it would take more like a 24 sheet. But, it's a darn good shredder!
AutistiVision thanks! Yes! Tried to pry my other brand open and got scared but yes unplugged !! I’ll try the confident prying and I also ordered a 99ci!! Haven’t got the patriot chipper I bought to do cardboard very well yet but will keep trying ! Supposedly our gardens should like this stuff!!

No. And it won't fit in the slot either.
If I had a shredder this powerful I'd be tempted to shred other things than paper. Like cans and plastic.

I have an Amazon basics 12 sheet cross cut paper shredder with the CD slot and it does all those things too and it was only 60$ so yeah
@@LifeofLeium Just FYI, we had that same Amazon basics shredder and it broke within a year. Just be ready for that. Maybe yours will last longer.
