Mount Cotton's First EVER Enduro Race (and it's Super Chill)

- After 'officially' opening just a few days prior Mt Cotton was set for its first EVER race, an enduro race no less. Running over two awesome days (one being Father's Day) the hype levels were high.
Conditions on the day were warm, breezy at times with dust GALORE. The tunes were pumping from the Redbull DJ buggy and with a field of 200 riders there was plenty of familiar faces amongst the full faces.

Cheers man, my goal for the day was to stay rubber side down and I achieved that with no issues! Next race I'll be making sure to give it a bit more gas.

HAHA It's actually a really chilled event. I've raced a few downhill races back in the day and you do feel all the eyes watching you at the start. This one is all about racing the way YOU want to. Everyone is to busy having a chat to notice your runs anyway! Feel good to be back man.

That would be the Osprey Savu 5, a VERY durable and comfortable pack for the cooler months and short rides. Combo it with a bottle cage and you can easily bring 2L with you on your ride. Enough room for phone, snacks, batteries, wallet, multitool and keys as well!

At least we had the photographers out there on the day for a sneaky pic or two. Well done on your results Johnny, you're pretty quick so I was confident you could keep up with the elite dudes.

You should! There's some absolutely awesome riding up north, particularly in Cairns if you know where to look. Think they run them around winter so temps should be manageable as well.

I got a fair few mates in Townsville and cairns that have moved from bmx over to MTB so I’ll have some great local knowledge as well, you hoping to do much travel next year ? Covid dependence ofcorse 😂
Local knowledge is absolutely key for the best experience up north. I want to visit a LOT of trails around the country but the borders and wallet are keeping me in check. :P
