For sure. I remember seeing a clip from about 2020 I think when I first started finding out about vtubers in general. Suisei mentioned that she had talked to Yagoo about some troubles she was having. Yagoo basically told her to take some time off and not feel bad about it. I'm not sure if that clip is still floating around though. It could have well been from Hololive Moments.
Hololive talents often land on the side of struggling to let themselves take a break while management begs them to do so.

Fans should know that prioritizing your oshi's health and well being for her longevity is far more important than forcing her to stream and ruin her health/sanity.

Myth had a lot of weight on their shoulders as Hololive's first EN gen and they really overworked themselves. I'm glad they can relax a bit more now but Calli is a workaholic and if she wasn't a vtuber she'd be focusing on her music career.

Mumei and Selen famously joined their respective companies at the same time and thought they were joining the same one. In an alternate reality they are swapped but Selen (mumei) would have STILL quit Nijisanji. They were fated to lose the dragon.
I don't think they would have given the selen model to her. I can't really see it. If we're putting aside the other talents and only looking at the models i would have given her rosemi's model, whereas if rosemi's and petra's talents are still there and need to form the gen i would have given mumei petra's model and petra selen's, leaving rosemi as rosemi.
I shudder to think what would have happened if the roles were reversed. Mumei is quite a stressed out little owl with (from what it seems) very little irl support network. Niji almost broke Selen; Mumei might have quit within a year😢

100% agree with this.I used to not take my PTO and just convert it to cash at the end of the year but after years of doing it my health got worse, sometimes a little vacation can help both your physical and mental health in the long run.
I constantly hear people in my industry brag about how much PTO they have and how they haven't taken a sick day in 10 years. It's a goddamn shame.

And they keep winning, bc they know the talents are what make the company, along with management. Therefore the well being of them is more important than potential loss that they can regain quickly by maintaining a good reputation. I am very glad that we know there are founders aside from Yagoo that help maintain a healthy system like A-chan, who I think is a big reason we have hololive now.

Most jobs do let you take time off. Hell most I know let you accumulate* around 150-160 hrs of VTO, with around 80-120 hrs of sick time.
And if your job is one that absolutely needs you, usually you're at a higher wage bracket, effectively trading the Now for the Later.
Fake Worker, MVP Worker, or Uses too many rest days just to be lazy Worker.

Well it's a creative job, and creativity can't be forced... i mean, you don't see most most actresses or musicians working ALL THE TIME, or training or preparing for their next big concert or movie or whatever. But still, it is a privilege and Mumei and all the others taking long breaks are right to be grateful to their communities... because if anything, entertainment quickly gets replaced by the next shiny, funny, exciting thing, so for fans to keep sticking around (at least the majority of them) speaks a lot about people's dedication and admiration for the holo-girls.

This is a sentiment I've had towards my job for years now. It's not the thing I studied for and was passionate about so I'm really just doing it to put money on the table, thus I can't afford to quit. A week of break would have been a blessing, much less months. But alas. Society do be like that sometimes.
As someone who is already thinking of quitting my current job, I kinda envy Mumei. My job is easy, but what makes it hard is my team leader. It is also harder because that same team leader has a lot of people he knows in the higher ups so even if I raise my complaints, it will just fall on deaf ears.
On that note, people, if you feel like social media is affecting your life in a negative way, quit for a while. It's not so bad to detoxify sometimes.

Hololive allows their streamers to take occasional long vacations if they need to and considering how much Gura has been grinding prior to 2022, it's no wonder why she took long breaks more often.
Haachama took almost a year of break and she is fine.
i think cover understand too that at this point their older gen is like a brand, even if they don't stream much their merch were always sold. so the formula become like newer gen=more stream, older gen=merch and event/sponsor.
Gura also does a lot of event work for hololive. There was recently an aquarium event where she had to read scripts for a bunch of attractions.
There's also that time Sakura Miko took a leave. There's the the recent Shion and Moona. Ina also took one and came back to fan art of her back.
GG's absence doesn't seems like a vacation. Vacations are communicated and scheduled.
So glad to live in a part of the world where they practically force you to take vacation, you can save up for a 3 month break, and where you get sick pay when you get burnout. Glad mooms is able to take this personal time too thanks to hololive

I think thanks to Yagoo, Cover as a company simply reflects that the strength of the agency is its relationship with its talent. If the talent wants to be there then they will work better and ensuring the work environment has the tools to support their goals and needs reinforces that. It doesn't always work out, but they try to learn from any mistakes on this end. In contrast other Japanese companies expect a devotion to the business over the individual's well being.

Hololive has proven more than once that they are serious when they say they are ok with breaks. The talents are why people keep coming back, and grinding them to the point they quit would be counterproductive in the long run.

That hit pretty close to home I mean I had to take a break from most life responsibilities and work on myself due to many reasons and hearing her mention that reminded me to appreciate that I was able to do that as most people don’t get that chance even if they need it

V-tuber talents already have it rough WITHOUT their company breathing down their necks or hindering them or dragging their feet to pay for their projects. Hololive prioritize the mental health of their talents and giving them ample tolerance for extended breaks. Not to mention some of the top notch management work done according to statements made by the talents.
Now imagine Mumei needing time-off from stress despite her company doing their best to minimize stress for them. And now imagine a certain purple dragon doing her job while being bullied blatantly without mercy. Yeah, she and everyone was lucky her attempt failed.
Attempted murder should be held against Kurosanji because they knowingly did what they did and knows exactly what is going to happen to their victims.
You know the terrible part? The "purple dragon" wasn't unique. japanese black companies drive their employees to off themselves more often than not. It's really messed up, and apparently, that other company is no different. They don't care if their employees off themselves as long as they keep making money. Those people didn't matter to them.

I took a year off just gone to work on my issues before deciding to finish my medical degree, some say i wasted my time (that is indeed true) but it was honestly the best thing that could happen, i am happy now and i feel that i became a better doctor than i would be if i just never did the break
Luckily Cover has enough talents to afford letting some of them have a timeout for themselves, hence having a pretty healthy work environment and thats awesome.
All started in 2022, if you remember. After the early part of the year having a lot of holomem taking breaks for health reasons, Cover implemented a policy to be more lenient with breaks/vacations, while giving managers the latitude to intervene, when necessary, to fit rest days into their schedule.
As a consequence, it looks like this worked with those like Haachama, Shion, Gura, and Mumei, who had to take more than a few weeks away from streaming to deal with varying reasons. As long as they took care of obligations that Holopro/Cover couldn't absolutely delay for them, or the talents wanted to do offline, it was okay. Stark contrast to many agencies out there in creative fields. 😊

Cover has WAY less "total" talents than Kurosanji. Kurosanji basically throws everyone at the wall and see what sticks, so they lost so many people to graduations that their remaining members seemed more manageable.
@@VallenChaosValiant I read an interview about Tazumi Riku, the CEO of Nijisanji, and his approach to business, and it perfectly lines up with what we see in Nijisanji, where he employs a "shotgun" approach to problems, and more disturbingly he went into vtubing as a way to make a quick buck.
I'm glad a lot of girls on Hololive get treated so well and get the time off that they need.
And don't misunderstand me on this but I do find it a little sad so many in Hololive are taking breaks these days. I just really miss them.

Same. My oshi has been on break for three weeks and while i did miss her, i still had so many other things to watch so no relaxation. I wonder what the optimum is where people can support a lot of talents, they don't stream more than needed, and still get enough support to make a good living

I get that feeling. I have been unable to take time off properly for so long that, even though I am more able to now, I'm afraid to do so because it doesn't feel right. It can really get in your head, & it's going to take time to get past it.

Seems a lot of Holomems have been allowed to just be absent for weeks and most of the time, the reason is just to take a break, had a surgery, or even something so personal it shouldn't be public. Meanwhile, in another company... they really be calling your presence "negligible" on a public statement.

I'm really glad she's able to take the time to address what's been going on in her life. At least one detail we know of, and boy was it a doozy... Good on Holo for giving her the opportunity she needed.

But Anycolor (Nijsanji) IS a big company, and Cover will be definitely not wanting to make some problems or drama in the future so the chance of any Holo talents doing collab with ex-Niji talents is really tiny. Though, Bettel did collab with Kuro once, BUT not to miss a fact, that he DIDN’T do a stream on his end. Also take a note that Bettel is a HoloSTARS member, which is rather not so much having spotlight as HoloLIVE therefore the chance of them getting drama-ed is not as significant. What I meant by drama is not only about the company Anycolor, but also the hardcore fans of Nijisanji. You should take a big note that Mano Aloe was harassed BY Nijisanji toxic hardcore fans just because she was implied to be talking about one of ex-Niji (JP) members even though that was when she’s Delutaya (pre-Aloe).
Tldr, to all of you hoping for that, it might not happen. Still possible, but very small chance. You definitely don’t want Mumei to get attacked by hardcore Niji fans. The best thing to be hoped is for “another Himemori Luna case”, if you get what I meant.
It’s lovely to see the support these talents are getting from their fans and their company, to prioritize their health. I’ve been consistently impressed with that every time someone takes a break. So far, Gura, Mumei, Ina, and Haachama have all returned from their health-related breaks to an audience and company that warmly welcomes them back. And they’ve all seemingly bounced back themselves with motivation to continue. That’s a good sign that things both publicly and behind the scenes are going well. When Shion returns I’m sure it will be the same.
I imagine the mental strain she must be going through knowing that her friend almost ended her own life. Especially when originally they intended on joining the same company but ended up join different companies.

I do hope, hololive will implement somekind of retirement contract for some graduated talents. like they would be able to stream sometime after they gone. It's like how your friends those part way, sometime you just wanna hear about their life, how it's going. I just wanna hear them talk or play some games.
I feel they should be given the option of buying their ip after a little while with the company. Then when they leave they can stream how they want. With their revenue split tapering off over time till they're completely out of the company.
Doubt that would happen cause joining holo gives quiet boost to ur viewers and those who graduated and goes on their previous model or even new model still retains those viewers meaning they can have pretty safe vtuber career even if they leave so.
But there's multiple graduated Holo Vtubers that still stream after leaving Holo. Are you referring to keeping the same model after leaving?
@@franks777_KFPgen 0 actually own their own models since they had it before joining Hololive and has different contract than others meaning if they grad or leave holo they prob would have their everything with them.
