The Bear River Farms ANGEL Program is an approach for lifting the idea of a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) to another level.
Details:
Number of ANGELS:
25
ANGEL Support Fee:
$1,000 min. (higher amounts are possible)
Methods of payment:
Cash, Cheque, E-transfer:
Total amount to be collected:
$25,000
Funds are earmarked for:
Bread Slicer & Heat shrink wrapper
In-house Credit for each ANGEL:
$1,100 (not transferrable)
Referrals:
For every person who becomes an ANGEL because of your referral, you receive an additional $100 credit in you ANGEL account.
Redeemable Products:
Flour, Rye Bread, Meat, Gift Vouchers.
(Some products might be limited in Quantity)
Draws:
Can be made any time by appointment at the farm.
Products can be redeemed in one or in several smaller draws.
Delivery:
ANGELS that are not able to pick up products in person can ask for delivery options. (Nova Scotia only)
Expiry:
December 31st. The remaining balance expires or can be turned into Gift Vouchers without expiry date. Gift vouchers can be used by the ANGEL or will make a wonderful Christmas gift for a beloved person.
When the new piece of equipment arrives on the farm and is ready to use, there will be an ANGEL gathering taking place on the farm.
• The new equipment will be demonstrated to the ANGELS
• Each ANGEL’s Name will be put on the piece of equipment!
• Products can be redeemed.
• A community farm feast will wrap up the event.
• And each ANGEL will get a red Bear River Farms Cap with his or her name embroidered on it.
Our hope is that with the Angel Program we can connect our valued customers more deeply with the source of their food.
If the Bear River Farms Angel program becomes a success, we will extend it to other necessary Equipment that needs to be replaced or acquired new.
We are convinced that the vision for a better future in agriculture is possible when consumers start to partner up directly with a farmer who supplies them with food.
Until then, the Bear River Farms ANGEL Program is a first step in the direction of filling the gap between farm revenue and the real costs of food production.

Bear River Farms
Agriculture, as is it is practiced today, is in a devastating situation.
A completely new way of farming needs to be developed.
This is, what this channel is all about.
Bear River Farms is a small diversified Biodynamic Farm located in Nova Scotia, Canada. We are certified organic by EcoCert and accredited by Demeter Canada for over 15 Years.
We aim to be as self-sufficient and as independent as possible. Everything on our farm grows at its own pace. Nothing is forced to grow faster or to produce more.
We keep a small herd of cattle, pigs and chickens and grow different cereals and hay. Our well-known Sourdough Rye Bread and Flour Products are available in Health Food Stores and Farm Markets across the Maritimes.
We want to set an example of how to start, renew, and operate a small farm enterprise and how to save and protect the soil, the seeds, the breeds and a safe source of comprehensive nourishing food, for now and for following generations.
