Just saw the Legacy reduced to ÂŁ23.50 on Master of Malt and picked it up based on your recommendation. Sipping it neat right now and I have to agree it's absolutely phenomenal! Rich, creamy, slight sweetness, hints of vanilla and chocolate with a balanced wood influence and touch of spice from the aging. Super well balanced and complex for the price. Absolutely delicious neat. Thanks so much for the rec!
Definitely my favorite of the brand; price-quality-wise... Know it's kinda outside of your budget range but would love to see a review of Chairman's 1931 as well to see how well it compares to the Legacy.

I love Legacy. It's so different from the original Chairman's Reserve, and is definitely my preference. I've done a tasting where I compared original, Legacy, and Forgotten Casks, and Legacy is definitely my favorite of the three.

I don't often see eye to eye with you Steve, what with me loving my sipping rums and barrel ageing etc... however, with legacy, you simply can't go wrong, it's a truly wonderful rum and pairs nicely as a sipper with a proper dark chocolate. â€

Love this one! Prefer it to Forgotten Casks. Got mine for USD $35. Paid $24 for Original (but have seen it for $21-22) - totally worth the difference in price! A lot of places are higher than $35, but if you look around online, it's reasonably easy to find. I'll always have a bottle of this one, hard to beat the quality/price ratio. đ Great review!

It's too bad Legacy isn't available here in Ohio US but we do have the Forgotten Casks, the Spiced, Original and the 1931. It would be great to see a more in depth dive into the Chairmans line. I know the 1931 is out of the usual price range you feature as it's $99 USD here, but I think it would be an interesting video!

Not sure what the rules are in Ohio - can you get shipments across your state line? Maybe you can order online out of state (or within Ohio?) It's worth it!
@DB-uv1st Yes we can get online shipments here in Ohio and I'll add it to the list. I usually put in an order online once a year for rum we don't have here before my birthday in early June. Makes for a great summer!
I have 60+ bottles of rum in my collection and for my personal taste this is easily the worst of them all, the one bottle I will never finish. I must have some production error bottle, I cant explain it otherwise.
What Rums are you used to drinking, as I've never heard anyone have a bad word against Chairmans Legacy...?
Hi Steve, As this is a blend of suger cane and molasses, how does it compare to Goldstone dark. I know this is aged where the Goldstone is rapid aged.. đ€
Thatâs an unfair comparison. Totally different styles. I wouldnât even compare Goslings to Legacy, let alone Goldstone. Goldstone is one Rum. Legacy is a blend of multiple Rums. Goldstone has 20 Days. Legacy has 5-6 years in it. Goldstone is a hybrid Still. Chairmans has Pot and Column. Itâs literally like comparing a Bar of Chocolate to a Roast Chicken!

Totally different animal compared to the Original. I like Original for the price, but Legacy is on another level in my opinion, but don't overpay for it.
