My heart really goes out to you. You are dealing with a shitty situation with such grace. You are a real inspiration and I truly wish you nothing but good things for the beauty and positivity that you promote. And that's from the insanely high standards and creativity that you put into editing your videos, to the yummy recipes, to the honest and open way you have dealt with your health issues 🍓❤️🌴

WOW i really appreciate this video series on PCOS. I've been to the obgyn who based on my dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia thinks i have endometriosis but i have to go for some tests etc but i have like every symptom of PCOS that you describe besides irregular periods; food intolerances, difficulty to lose weight especially in upper arms and lower body, acne etc

Thank you so much for your videos on PCOS. They have given me inspiration to keep pushing forward (I too have PCOS). In one of them, you spoke about working out incessantly to keep your weight down. I was working out 3x/day and eating like a bird. I lost weight (around 40lbs), but I felt miserable and I had to stop. It's comforting to know that someone has gone through the same struggle and can understand it. I would love to see what meals/snacks you have throughout the day.

I love how real you are in this video, Rachel. I know how difficult it is to drink tea when it's hot lol. Our country is that almost 90% of the time. I just drink it lukewarm instead.
I drink Chromium Picolinate, Maca root powder in my smoothies, I drink spearmint tea and another blend. I have heard about DIM. Some people with PCOS also take Evening Primrose. If I could really afford these I would also but just the adjustments in my diet (currently trying to adjust lowering my gluten intake, which is almost impossible in my country - just one resto is completely gluten free lol) and adjusting from high carb to semi-low carb which is already getting so expensive.
I've always had big arms, it's the first that gets fat lol. I also have that bit of too much hair problem and some more problems. Please do continue these vlogs. It gives me the push to not give up.

Hey Rachel! I was diagnosed with PCOS back when I was 14 but none of the doctors I went to had helped me to find the actual reason behind it so I would just be constantly on the pill. Since then, I have changed a couple of doctors & I finally found a way to treat it & maybe you could look into it as well. I went ahead & took a blood test to check my insulin levels & it turned out they were pretty high. That basically means that my androgen levels were high as well & that affected my menstrual cycle & my weight. After receiving the correct medication, exercising regularly & eating healthy, I lost more than 10 kilos in less than 7 months & now I'm having my period every single month with no help at all from the pills.

Hey, Rachel! I've been a fan for a very long time! :3 I was thinking, have you ever considered that stress is EXTREMELY bad for women with PCOS. I have it myself and ever since I decided to take a break from everything major going on in my life and just chill out for a little bit and then start slow one step at a time it's been better; a lot better. So I suggest you consider stress as well and have a little break.

Love the fact that you are so public about having PCOS. I was diagnosed in 2009. I also am a health care worker so when others are saying,"You are eating to much,' or ' you need to exercise more,'" when in reality you have cut your calories down by 25% and exercising 2 hrs a day and still gaining weight it was very frustrating. It took 2 professionals to actually diagnose me. Now I am being treated by a specialist. I would love to chat with you about this, share information. I found out a lot!

Do you suffer a lot from hair growth with your PCOS? If so how do you deal with it? I have managed to in some way or another combat each of my PCOS symptoms but the hair is my main issue. It is literally the bane of my life!

Btw a following pcos question: what about alcohol? Like red wine? Did you give up any kind of alcohol or you may have a glass of smth time to time and what it may be?

I've always had irregular menstrual cycles and bad acne since I can remember, so I thought that it was normal. But just recently I gained 50 pounds in less than a year. I didn't even realize how big I had gotten until my fiance started taking pictures of me. Well I went and got blood work done and I found out I am insulin resistant. Thankfully I am not prediabetic or diabetic (yet,) but my doctor said that it seems I may have pcos? He didn't set up an appointment with the ob and he just put me on metformin, so should I set up an appointment myself or wait to see what he decides?
Sorry I don't know if it is any different where I am then from where you are.

Cassandra Theodore I was prescribed metformin also, but I stopped taking it-leaves you slave to the porcelain god! Eat a veg and fruit heavy natural diet, add organic, antibiotic-free meats if you choose and keep your carbs natural and low. It's done wonders for me with exercise added. Hope this helps and good luck!

I suggest setting up an appointment with your OB! Helps to have a second opinion... Sometimes meds just don't really work so much so it would be good it you get to the root of the problem.

The side effects if metmorfin will go away after a few weaks, if you follow the diet, and if you build up the medicine. For example if you have to take 1500mg, start with 500 for a week or two, then 1000 another week, or until the side effects calm down, and then you can take the 1500 mg. This is how doctors advise you to do where i live. Also you cannot follow a low carb diet, because if you don't eat enough of them, you're going to feel dizzy and stuff. 120-160 gramms of slowly absorbing carbs, divided between 5-6 meals a day to keep your insulin and blood levels consistent. No sugar, or white flower, not too much diary, or sweet fruits, you only should eat those in the afternoon, with some slower carbs like wholewheat crackers or something, so for example a smoothie for breakfast would be a bad idea, it would make you crave food all day.
