I use two P1S constantly (currently I use up about 8kg of PLA per month) for tabletop terrain. There was one instance where one of the printers really messed up a first layer. So I don't miss the lidar. What happened more often was small objects getting loose off the (PEI) build plate. But I mitigated that problem by giving those Objects a bigger first layer (quite often interlocking with other objects). At least with PLA, the Bambus are so good and reliable that I don't need the lidar.
I use eSun PLA+ (mainly matt grey) with the standard 4mm nozzle, mostly at 0.12 and 0.08mm layer heights.
I Think the P1S Might be my next printer that I Add.
I have had 3 Anycubic machines and now that I have this one - with AMS -, it's like going from a base model sedan to a fully loaded SUV.
Wasted filament is nothing compared to the wasted _time_! Definitely worth it.
Super True
Was just about to write that - how much time I already saved because the printer stoped and warned me.
well of course you should always mess with stuff that works just fine... Without trouble, you would forget how much fun 3d could be... (I got mine a few days ago, X1 rocks)
I have a P1S and find that using a bit of glue stick has been the key, was printing multiboard panels and some of the edges were coming up on the textured plate. I just use the camera on it to monitor it every now and then.
Great review! Very detailed
Thanks!
Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching !
I always wait for the first layer to complete before I walk away and let the printer do its thing. That said my printers are an 8 year old Ultimaker 2+ manufactured before all the sensors current printers have were developed and a new Qidi Tech Smart 3. After the initial set up on my Ultimaker I rarely had any issues with the first layer, failed prints, spaghetti, etc. The Qidi has most of the sensors but the Z adjustment requires manual adjustment. The biggest benefit of the new printer for me is the wifi connection and not needing to plug and unplug SD cards to print. I am considering the Bambu P1S o replace the Ultimaker but hesitating due to the closed system of Bambu. I understand that there is a LAN mode for the P1S. Have you tried the LAN mode?
I have not tried the LAN Mode Yet. When I had the Sovol, I hated having to go from the computer to the printer with a sd card. Being able to do it via wifi is so much more convenient.
Could have cleaned it for the beauty shot 😂
Haha, I mean I could have 😂
What is your favorite Printer Currently?
p1S for the moment
X1C is my only one printer and I love it.
need to wait for double head heated chamber future carbon
the AI of the X1C don't work 100 % keep a eye on it
Yup
Clean it 😂
I Know haha 😂
I think you're a bit late to the party mate ;)
Yeah, but gotta start somewhere haha
Might not be worth buying Bambulab printers anymore, once they lose the lawsuit from stratasys they'll probably go out of business.
Eh, I doubt they will be affected.
If Stratasys wins their lawsuit against BambuLab then they'll be emboldened and start going after all the other manufacturers as well.
