Thanks for the shout out, and here is some more help. the trace tool that you tried. after you have placed it you can change the curve and fill it with the fill tool. the one next to it to the right. You can also copy and flip stuff. split joints can connect to other split joints. This will be important on one of the later levels. Also press G to turn of the grid it will help you on some levels.
to use the curving you connect a joint with a joint and you can either press flip or use the grey points to raise it,press the fill tool when you are fine with what it looks like.
