- Today on the WorkBench I am building this 1994 Ford F150 Lightning pickup from AMT.
I purchased this kit on a clearance sale at a local Walmart last summer and finally decided to put it together. I have to admit I actually had fun putting this one together. With a minimal amount of flask and mold line cleanup this went together fast.
I did a little something extra with the paint on this one, so make sure to watch to the end to discover what that was, you won’t be disappointed.
Here’s the link to the Pearl Ex pigment powder. You can also fine this product through an Amazon search, but if you want to know more about this product follow the link below.

I hope that you enjoyed watching this video as much as I did building the kit.

Great looking build and a good slight change of direction when you found the bad wheel. I bet that paint pops in sunlight. Great to watch the master of the orange tube. No one controls the plastic cement like you !
Thank you! It's funny that I didn't catch that bad wheel during the intro, somehow I missed it, but it worked out well in the end. I didn't think to bring that out into the sunshine until I read your comment, so that's what I did and you're correct, it does pop in the sun.
I wouldn't call myself the "master of the orange tube". I have been building for over 50 years now. (Wow, I'm getting old!) and the orange tube is the only glue that I have ever used and over the years I have gotten used to how it flows etc. It's like most things, after you use them for a while you get better. As a young builder I was always a bit stingy with the use of the glue, to the point that some of my early builds would often fall apart from lack of glue. So, I guess that set me on the path to greatness? Besides, I really don't know what would happen if I switched to a different glue other than the tube. So, I stick with what I know... Thanks for the great comment!
Sweet build man love the video and the fact that you took the time to look up the build sheet on it nice tuch thare
Thank You! I do a little research on every build that I do. Not that I am an over the top, got to get every detail correct kind of builder but I think that it's great to know what colors, inside and out, were available for that particular vehicle. I also download reference images so that I can see the different details in the interior, exterior and under the hood. I don't always get it correct but I get it close. Thanks for watching!
Nice build!!!!! I have the same kit that’s been setting on the shelf for a while now. After watching your video I might have to break it out and build my own version!
Thank You! It's a great kit, actually better than I thought it would be initially. Just watch out for the crushed wheels. Not saying that you will have any. Mine was, hopefully, a one off and never will happen to another person. Then again... it is AMT after all. Thanks for watching!
Great build and nice wheel substitute!
Thank You! It's a shame that I had to swap them out but I like the wheels I used better than the ones that came in the kit.
Turned out great, color looks awesome!
Thank You! It is an interesting color and I have used it once or twice before. I really liked that Mica powder as well. I have had that for about 15 or so years and had never tried it in clear coat before.
I’ve built one, that’s a great kit by AMT👍
Surprisingly, it really is a great kit from AMT
Very cool thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank You! and thanks for watching!
Looks great. 😊
Thank You!
