  • Dashboard repair, from a BMW e30, that was in a bad condition with a lot of cracks. The procedure was: washing, cutting the rough edges, filling, sanding, painting and clear coat for plastics.
    OBS: This is a repair, not a restoration. The objective was to improve the inicial condition and fix the cracks!
    Used materials: to fill the cracks we used some sponge from used polishing pads (no waste!!), super glue combined with baking powder that provides strength and some flexibility (better alternative to scratch filler used in leathers... and way more cheaper). To clean: APC "Textile Cleaner" by Kenotek and before painting cleaned with some "cleaning misture" (it's for sale with this name). The paint and clear coat are prepared in the same store and exclusively by them. All the products (including paint, clear coat, cleaning misture) and tecnhics can be found and learned (professional formations) in: www.encontravantagem.com/

    Baking soda and good 'ol glue. You can crack the planet in half and fix it with that 👌🏻

      So true! I also have scratch filling, but ... not good for hard surfaces like dashboards, just leathers and derivatives. The glue and baking soda it's a great solution and so, but so cheap!

    ficou bom. as trincas ficaram visíveis depois de pronto mas por falta de detalhamento com primer e pintura. mas o processo foi bem simples e mesmo assim ficou muito bom. o meu tabelier vai ser difícil de reparar pois é fino e empenou onde tem apenas espuma. é de um GM brasileiro opala 1981

    Muito bom!!! Finalmente um vídeo nacional para este tipo de reparações. Uma Pergunta: o método usado para encher as rachadelas resiste às mudanças de temperatura sem rachar? É suficientemente flexível?
    Cumprimentos e continuem com o bom trabalho.

    • @PuraCarsDetail
      @PuraCarsDetail  Před 4 lety

      Obrigado eheh Tentaremos seguir uma temática dentro deste tipo de reparações, mesmo a nível de peles :) Quanto às mudanças de temperatura penso que aguentará bem isto porque durante a reparação a superfície vai sendo aquecida com o soprador de ar quente e normalmente uso acima dos 200º, e estamos a falar neste caso de uma mudança drástica de temperatura. Quanto à flexibilidade, bem não é tão flexível quanto a superfície original, pelo menos neste caso em que o tablier tem uma composição de espuma e acabamento superficial em vinil, mas sempre flecte pelo menos o suficiente para as torções da carroçaria (e também dependerá sempre um pouco do nível de reparação em si, isto é, se a intervenção é pequena ou grande em relação ao estado do tablier)
      Mais uma vez um grande obrigado pelo apoio :)

      it looks way better than the 100$plastic cover cap or unrepaired. Great alternative for someone who doesn't want to replace the whole dashboard. I will do it without removing it and it will look fine, not like a high end brand new oem bmw perfect amazing restored dashboard of course
