Why are the Crosscountry services not calling at Winchester and Brockenhurst?

Apparently to help with social distancing even though CrossCountry trains run with empty coaches now.

Most London Northwestern / West Midlands Railway for B’Ham New Street go to London Euston on the stopper / slow train
