  • Sugarcane is an agricultural commodity that is widely grown in Indonesia. Sugarcane is mostly used as raw material for industrial sugar (crystal sugar). Granulated sugar is produced by physical and chemical processes (assisted by the addition of chemicals) during the process, thus allowing for adverse effects on health, such as diabetes.
Brown sugar, apart from being produced from palm tree sap, can also be produced from sugar cane juice. This cane brown sugar has a shape like brown sugar on the market with a sweet taste, like granulated sugar and brown in color.
The processing of brown sugar cane includes cleaning of cane stalks, milling, cooking, and printing. Sugarcane stalks that have been cleaned of dry leaves are milked using a milling machine. The results of this milking produce bagasse and sugarcane juice. This bagasse can also be dried and used as fuel for cooking sugarcane juice.
