A group of mercenaries is double-crossed during a mission and are approached by Church to overthrow the ruthless dictator of a South American country. It isn't long before the men realise things aren't quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of betrayal. Although their mission is compromised and an innocent is in danger, soldier of fortune Barney and his comrades decide to get the job done.

Fast and Furious Route's already been taken. The Expendables gives you the Bing-Bang-Boom Route.
The expendables 1 was okay very fun to watch, expendables 2 It's the best action movie they've ever made in the Expendables series, expendables 3 The only thing I tell you is to watch the whole film, expendables 4 Same thing but really try watching the whole movie please brother 😄

13:41 actually Tom Cruise thinks he’s Stallone since Stallone did it first but Cruise had to try and one up him by doing it higher up.
I will strongly disagree about Director Cuts and extended versions for first time watches.
The theatrical usually flows better and makes more sense because unnecessary scenes are shot and directors with full power usually screw it up.
You can always watch extended versions later as intended to get extra info, but you lose the chance of that original reaction. You can’t get an original reaction after watching extra, but you can always get more later. Basically everyone who sees things current or when released get original cuts. Don’t let them influence you to do differently.

Oscar worthy if you ask me. It's right up there with his 3 minute cameo in "The Pledge." Same thing. He gets one scene, in this case with Jack Nicholson, and Mickey steals the whole movie.

You are right the director's is better, release. I own a copy as well,actually I own both releases.
Did you watch the original first?
Don’t take away someone else’s chance to experience it naturally instead of altered and released later.
@athens_1psvr31 I watched the original first about four times. As luck would have it as I was shopping, I found the director's cut, also watched four times, and that is low for me.
This could've been one of the all time action films if they'd gotten a writer and a director who knew how to handle an ensemble cast. Make it a real team movie. Cut the go no where parts. Eliminate a few of the roles. It's not bad but had the potential to be so much more.
