Beaver Kits - and then there were 4!

I had been seeing 3 kits this year for a couple of weeks, then one dusk recently, I saw 4! Whether I had been seeing a different 3 at times or the 4th stayed in the lodge longer, is difficult to say.
It's a really good number and shows how healthy the habitat and the beavers are, and there is a good food supply.
We have been having some amazing views this year as they stay near the lodge before they start venturing into the wider habitat. Their Mother is now feeding them mainly willow twigs. Their teeth have got stronger and they can now chew some bark on the small branches as well as the leaves. They are doing a little foraging for themselves in the Lodge pond.
