  • With the other shed eating away at the build budget, it was time to get all the panels off the floor and back on the car, ready to off hire the shed. Delays with the door parts meant i could also use this window of opportunity to get the gearbox back in the car before the doors go back on.
    All , video, animation & editing is recorded and produced by me.

    Man that was satisfying watching that all bolted together just drop perfectly into place! Good effort man!

    Real nice ambient music for the timelapse! Much better than that standard trash used in many car related videos.

    It’s fascinating to see the body with out its clothes on. The carcass seems to be a lot of simple, cheap folding or basic pressed parts, about the only complex curved panels are the skin pressings. Very clever and low budget. I wonder if the design team had known at the outset quite how much a money spinner it would be, what they would have done differently.

      Hindsights a wonderful thing. All in all, i think the designers did a cracking job!

      @@endakhudson I quite agree, interesting too to recognise the same gearbox casting as the Rover P6 that a friend owned.

    I was only jealously thinking about your Rangie the other day and wondering when you might upload again, then this popped up. BOOM! 😁 Progressing nicely, keep up the good work and quality videos 👍

      Thank you Matt, Plenty more to come! Constant juggle between working on the car and documenting the process.

    Nice progress on the rangie!
    I need to crack on with my land rover lightweight with TDI/lt77 conversion project.
    May i ask wat the reason is for the manual conversion?

      Thanks Rick, very happy with the progress!
      i decided to go with a manual since i had a lot of issues with the 2 auto's i previously had rebuilt and installed on the car.
      I found the auto's did not cope well with the abuse i was putting it under and just didnt give me the confidence i needed out on those remote runs.

    where are some places you get the parts you need? And you probably said it somewhere, but what year is it?

      @endakhudson  Před 2 lety

      Sorry for the delayed response Josh, bought many parts second hand from other enthusiasts, Famous Four, Bearmach, Classic Rangie Parts etc.
      Rangie is a 1982!
