OMG LNP politicians are so disingenuous. The moment her mouth opened she was scoffing at the majority of Australians, and the interview just devolved for her from there. Opposition simply for the sake of opposition. What a shameful representative.

If a corporate CEO and board refused to modify company policies from 5 years ago when faced with significant economic changes, they'd be out of a job. It's common sense to do the same in government. What isn't sensible is giving tax cuts 5 years in the future. Despite the senators' deliberate misrepresentation of the stage 2 tax cuts, high income earners benefited from them as well.

My Opinion - Bridgett's comments would indicate that those in struggle street don't deserve any assistance in tough times!
Those who earn over $200,000.00 a year and who can probably engage a skilled accountant to reduce their tax impact according to Bridget need to be showered with additional government assistance!
Strange sense of logic from the Liberal and National Parties - probably a result of too many interactions with the "well to do" at wealthy yacht clubs!

How is not taxing people who already pay a massive amount of tax, identified as "government assistance".
Oh the irony of that comment, given people earning $200k a year are the ones providing the assistancs to the low income earners and for this they get the privilege of being told they are lucky to do so.
What are these mythical things you think an accountant can do to reduce taxable income for someone earning $200k a year. You are so clueless on all of this.
How about people go and find a way to earn more income and stop expecting other people to solve thier problems for them. Make the sacrifices that people who earn $200k a year are making.

      @lukerutter4471 "Find a better job" 🤓
*Doesn't take into equation that inflation is outpacing wages and that getting a better paying job requires money to get skilled*

@@Ritzer168 there is always an excuse.
"I cant work away from my family", "i can't do this work to get a better job", "thats just not possible for me". Yet no issues expecting the people who do make the sacrifices to pay for the people who dont. Maybe we should tax people in other ways to "make society better". Low income earner but you work where you live and have more time with family. Well we will tax your time and you now need to do mandatory community service.

Coalition leaders are cranky because they don't get a tax cut.
Labor leaders are like, we earn enough, give it to those who need it.

So let me get this strait. The LNP and some of the big news corporations are more concerned about whether this is a broken promise or not rather than the fact that the changes will actually help a lot of people.
    They’re so freakin idiotic.

One of these days I'll fall of my chair when a politician actually answers a direct question that's put to them. I doubt it will ever happen though.

“We’re going to undo the governments plan to reduce the amount of tax people who earn under $150K pay”.
So you’re going to increase the tax Australians who earn under $150K pay then?
    “No absolutely not”

The 92% that are getting extra cost of living relief through revised tax cuts welcome the change with open arms. Higher taxpayers are getting an excellent tax cut so is a good compromise.

It was a non-core promise. Like when John Howard said, and I quote verbatim, “there’s no way a GST will ever be part of our policy. Never ever. It’s dead”. That kind of broken promise?

G'day mate, our PM's a top bloke sharp and gutsy, knows what's what. Aussies are battling with the cost of living, and what we're after is a bit of relief. Time to tinker with them tax cuts, give the battlers a fair go. Now, for the big earners pulling in 200k and above, reckon it's time to thank your stars got a roof over your head, tucker on the table, no need for a blue. Show some gratitude, mate, for a good run and lend a hand where you can. Let's keep this country fair and look out for each other, eh?

So regret voting labour. I robbed myself starting the next financial year with my silly decision. Hypoctars. If they want to help working Australians go and tax higher those companies playing tax avoidance game with billions in revenue paying little to nothing tax in Australia.

Did you forget that the Liberals wedged Labor into supporting these tax cuts? I’m sure Labor would love to go after multinational tax dodgers, but the LNP would have a pink fit because those dodgers are usually mates or future employers. You’re flogging a dead horse, mate.
