- In the last Schultz video I focused on what the ship can and can't do. This game is focused on showing how to actually play the ship, to maximize its strengths while trying to avoid the glaring weaknesses.

WG have known about the Dev Strike bug for a while now. They are working around the clock to fix it, i have been told.
The Schultz really seems like a light cruiser that was accidentially put into the DD category.
That is because it literally is a light cruiser that was accidentally put into the DD category.
The ship is based on the German Spähkreuzer designs. Those where very long range cruisers intended to scout ahead of a taskforce to locate convoys for the bigger ships to sink. Think of ships like München (M class) Siegfried (O class) FdG (H class) or the P class that is not in WoWS.

@@DanielWW2 the Schultz has more in common with Omaha and the British early light cruisers than a DD, they were all what are called scout cruisers, leaders of destroyer flotilla and to scout for a battle fleet

@@bombvoyage5686 I would not state that. The Spähkreuzer originated from design studies for very large, oceanic destroyers. In concept it is similar to the Omaha, but the requirements are quite different. The Omaha is much bigger, far heavier armed and has more armour. It does sacrifice range, was quite overloaded and not that good of a design in general.
Spähkreuzer is fairly lightly armed, has almost no armour, but has enormous range because of its mixed turbine and diesel propulsion. Its machinery was also massive which meant very little room for other stuff inside the hull. It is not that comparable to something like Omaha or the British pre WW1 light cruisers because its role is quite different to the latter and its operating requirements differ from the former.
WG also demonstrated their inability to design something fake that makes sense because the magazine of the middle turret on Schultz would interfere with the aft set of boilers and turbines as well as the very long central shaft that ran al the way from below the bridge where the diesel engines where located. Basically they would be no room for that magazine. It needs to be placed aft, but that might have made Schultz a bit too usable by WG standards for anything German.
Friendly CV played pretty well. Constantly provided fighters for either protection or spotting. He pushed in to deny the enemy CV any chance of dealing with Fiji or Pommern and focused the Öster as much as a T8 CV can, because the Öster shreds planes and has a good air detectability. Id say thats one of the better CVs to have with you :D
Not to mention that Indomitable has a very limited amount of planes on deck as well.

It's pretty relaxing to play. It's kinda like a smoke cruiser, except with even less obligations to perform any real beneficial role besides farming damage. Less relaxing to play with a CV hounding you, more radars and / or any DD that actively tries to kill you though.
I also think one of the problems of the line is that most of the teammates do not understand their limitations and expect you to cap and spot.

@ANUBHAV SHARMA it would be interesting with a proper German hydro. If we speak about torps, 55 is still very slow, doesn't change their "tactical" purpose

Played with the t6 German heavy dd, I've never missed actual dd more.
We should all thank that other Schultz for showing us it's actually balanced and doesn't need nerfs like flamu's score suggests.

You know WG has a CC program? If you keep playing like this they can take you in. I herd they really like CC feedback and spreadsheets.

Idk if you are reading this flolo, but I am just wondering, dont you think that the kitakaze is just a better version of this clumsy gunboat playstyle? When I see the damage numbers the Schultz deals with AP I can't help but think that the kitakaze would deal the same or more DPM with HE only, and it can actually fight other DDs. The ability to hit citadels on cruisers without armour is neat, but when do you face those at tier 9 anyway? 1 in 10 matches maybe? Anyway, keep up the good work, I've been enjoying your content a lot lately :)!
I've only ever had a *good* game in them. Playing like a smoke cruiser, at 11-15km that doesn't have a citadel or take max battleship calibre damage.... A bit like the Tashkent and Khabarovsk. Accept, at least those two are fast, and can at least go after destroyers for the team...

Just noticed today : Z23 turrets are bugged.
they are supposed to turn in 10s but only the front one can do this not the others.

I think your shells shattered on the Kaga because you aimed at the belt of a converted battleship. Great game though, came together really nicely.

Dev strikes are broken since Fall at least...and since it doesn't make money, they did nothing about it.
Why is there a 'renamed user'?
It seems you could have had 6 kills, but man.. everyone finished them as your salvos were right in the way.
These warships have the secondary guns of German battleships as their MAIN CANNONS, they should have good firepower!

But yeah, I guess the ship really excel if you get the perfect match up.
It would have been different if there was a good active CV hunting DD's (which is usually the case in randoms, nuking dd's with rockets early game, if lucky the enemy cv sucks.) and good active gun boat dd also hunting. And teammates actually shooting dd's when spotted.
If not, then the sky is the limit for your damage. The only time you fail doing that is if you misplayed. In this case you didn't. And the enemy was not that keen on dealing with you either.

8:50 yes i've that issue too.. I got 3 Dev Strike from Amagi (kill full HP Atago) and 2x Loyang (kill 3/4 HP Veneto and full HP Jean Bart) but i didn't get the achievement! -_-"

The Kaga lost 132 planes...and it was still launching 2/3 - 3/4 size squadrons at the end smh

besides flamu"s gameplay, this was a typical double uptier tier 9 game with carriers on the eu server, tier 9s potatoing and tier 7s doing all the job with the carriers doing nothing but being annoying and stealing kills they didn't work for

@@soopahsoopah if game finds users name offensive it can forcibly rename it to "renamed used" and a string of numbers.
So flamu tried to rename his own account to this renamed type to sorta hide it (since WG is too lazy to implement anonymizer in WoWS) so that he would get recognized/streamsniped less. (It didn't really work)
you know what annoys me? there are enough *real* german DDs that they could have made a second line out of all real ships, instead of making shit up
Of course you CAN contest the caps in this ship... the correct wording is you wouldn't or shouldn't contest caps in this ship... but if you choose you 100% CAN contest caps in it.

Khaba is still overpovered. You can't even compare the HE DPM, fires/minute and speed.

250k seems quite low for the damage record game - i was kind of expecting over 300k, then again its a german ship in a rushian game.
I know this is going to sound hypocritical because the Strasbourg is my favorite premium, but only idiots buy a British premium CV.
Imagine asking a CV to spot a DD with Ostergotland's AA lmao.
Imagine being concerned that Caracciolio is going to die to Scharnhorst and opening up to help, then immediately questioning the CV doing the exact same thing.
Good video everywhere else, but those 2 things are some head scratchers.
I think the reason Flamu wanted the CV to spot Oster (as opposed to Flamu himself doing it) was because he could do it without any direct risk to his ship. His planes would eat the AA, sure, but his ship would be fine. If Flamu had gone after Oster, he would've been out-spotted, out-gunned, and out-torpedoed and would've been dumpstered.
Same thing for the Caracciolo; the CV's time would have been better spent engaging (and allowing Flamu to effectively engage) Oster, but because the CV didn't, Flamu's only available target was Scharnhorst, besides a few fleeting shots at Oster.
The CV could engage (or at least spot) either target at any time with zero risk, whereas Flamu would've been dumpstered if he tried to engage Oster himself.
imagine thinking losing planes is worse than an oster being able to roam and torp freely, instead of risking your planes to spot him and deter him/notify team of torps/shoot him.

@@RySLz ah yes, spot him for maybe 30s with Indomitable tiny squad sizes when the only ship that's going to shoot him is a Schultz with pathetic DPM.

Spotting would be good team play, but it would be bad for your own score. At this point you were likely to win anyway, so going after higher potential score is usually the right play in randoms.
I have kept strong AA dds spotted for 3 minutes, losing dozen of planes and my team would barely shoot at them, even if there were several ships in range that could have killed it.

Some teams are so bad they don't even pick up ur kills and die from them instead along with a moron cv player too focused farming enemies on the other side of the map to worry from enemies just in front of them ;)))
So instead of being happy about the best game for that ship so far, all i hear is a lot of "anoying this" "stolen that" complaints. Did you forget how to enjoy a good game result?
