I love Robert's reaction to Giselle singing "That's how you know". Robert: "He knows this song too. I've never heard this song. Are you crazy they're birds they don't know where she lives". Along with his face expressions on WTH is going on but going along with it anyways.
Ik, hilarious! I've low-key always thought of Giselle & Robert as the live-action counterpart to Rapunzel & Eugene's dynamic in Tangled. The scene where Giselle literally sings part of That's How You Know from the stage park production of Rapunzel (& where Robert stands up with sarcastic jazz hands) really stuck with me, for that reason lol.
As somebody who listened to a lot of college radio during my 20's and 30's, I can assure you that you will find plenty of music most people don't know about in my record, tape, and CD collection.
Giselle's wedding dress looked so gorgeous, and was designed by Mona May, who also worked on such classics as "The Wedding Singer" and "Clueless." However, it can't have been the most comfortable dress to wear!
Number one should have been Amy Adams herself, she did an amazing job that she basically NAILED acting naturally like an animated character in a LIVE ACTION setting - her mannerisms, inflections, mirrors classic Disney animations like Snow White, Cinderella, etc.
You know I think Doug Walker AKA The Nostalgia Critic criticize this movie called it a shadow parody of Disney princesses not realizing that Giselle was always supposed to be closer to the more "outdated" princesses like 80% Snow White. That's what makes her interactions with the real world so hilarious
The way Amy and Patrick gradually executes the development of feelings as the movie progresses with great chemistry is what made the adult me like the movie even more, a thing I wasn't really able to understand while I was watching it as a child
I'm here like a little kid crying to you, Kevin Lima because I wished Disenchanted was able to capture me the same way Enchanted did. Bill Kelly didn't write the sequel also. But I'm happy most of the cast, Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz returned. I'm just really sad the number one fan of Giselle, the OG Morgan-Rachel Covey was recasted. Don't get me wrong. I loved Gabriella's acting but Rachel Covey had a special place in my heart. I'm happy a director's commentary for Enchanted is about to be released on Disney+. Super excited!
There are also other Disney Princesses in Enchanted! Ilene Woods (the voice of Cinderella) and Mary Costa (the voice of Aurora in Sleeping Beauty) both make a brief appearance as guests at the ball!
Actually, the two actresses at the ball are not Ilene Woods and Mary Costa. I have invited them to play those roles, but they turned us down - a big disappointment.
Everything about this movie is perfect, from the casting to the music to the details, like making Giselle's final evening gown an echo of the one she wore at the start in Andulasia and having Jodi Benson's secretary be working in proximity to a bunch of fish.
Okay I'm going to be THAT PERSON. Traditional animation was not phased out in the mid-90s. Disney shut down their Florida animation studio in the fall of 2003. I know that because it was my freshman year at Ringling with an ultimate dream of being an animator at THAT studio.
I actually got this movie on Blu-ray in 2008 and it had a special Mode called the D Files which allows you to watch the movie while playing a trivia game to test your Disney knowledge and every correct answer will play a behind the scene clip
I know that she's supposed to be fully "real" by the time they put her in the purple dress but it still looks .... simple, considering that the ball's theme was like "fairy tale magic" or something like this, I mean look at Nancy. Maybe they wanted to show them switching places or something.. idk
I knew half of these, especially the incident with Patrick Dempsey accidently ripping Amy Adams toenails off(now that must have hurt alot and must have took alot of shots to make sure Amy could dance OK.
@@VM-du5hk 1st film. Q: How challenging was that intricate ballroom dancing scene - which comes at a dramatic moment in the plot? A: “It was great, but there was a funny moment in the rehearsal when Amy would not let me lead her. She is very experienced at ballet, but that is very different from ballroom dancing and she kept pushing me around. (laughs). I would say: ‘what are you doing? I am the man, I’m leading’, we started working with a dance instructor, but she would not listen and let me lead and she wouldn’t wear shoes. But I was wearing mine and I stepped on her accidentally and she ripped her toenail right off. She was supposed to go back and she went forward. It was quite dramatic. After that, we separated for a while completely and she went off to get a fruit smoothie. And then when we started to dance again and the music came on, everything changed, we started looking at each other for the first time and then emotion came through the dance and it was amazing. I found her vulnerability and had to take care of her and it turned everything around and changed the dynamic. For me, that day was amazing, it was one of the best and most interesting days I had making the movie. That moment developed our chemistry, because it forced me to lead her gently - and respectfully. And she had to surrender to that. I really loved the dancing and that scene is one of my favorite in the movie.
This movie was my childhood!! I remember I always wanted to see Giselle at Disneyland and World as well as see her on Disney on Ice! I actually still have my Giselle Wedding Dress costume from when I was 4 and I still love it to this day and i’m 19 now! It unfortunately doesn’t fit me now! I also remember always wanting the Deluxe Edition of Giselle’s Wedding Dress Barbie when I was a little kid! ^^ I was QUITE the Enchanted fan growing up! I had a very soft blanket of Giselle’s First Appearance In her pink dress on it and I truly loved that blanket! This movie is one of my childhood favorite’s even to this day!!😄
8:10 I knew that live-action Pip was voiced by the director. I’m one of those people who’s obsessed with knowing “who plays who.” Before iPads and IMDB apps, I kept a small binder of the casts of my top favorite movies and TV shows (Enchanted was one of them for a time) and whenever I wanted to know who played who, I would just look in my binder (I didn’t have a laptop until 2009 so I just kept slow-mo playing the credits and getting the cast that way)
Another Easter egg was the scene after Italian restaurant where the reporter was interviewing Giselle. The reporters name was a combination of the actual actress who played Snow White and Cinderella
I did not know James Marsden actually gets hit by the cyclists. That makes it even better. That was my favorite scene growing up it always made me laugh.
@@emmarodden7178 All due respect to Enchanted, "Falling Slowly" is a beautiful song and it was cool to see the Oscar go to 2 unknown people from a shoestring budget movie.

Never knew about any of these facts except shooting That’s How You Know, Kevin Lima voicing Pip in the live action sequences, the three princesses appear, and how Amy Adams had a hard time running in the wedding dress
12:50 It's actually a bit ironic you say musical past because James actually filmed Enchanted first with Hairspray right after. They were released the opposite way however. So Hairspray could be a perfect summer teen movie while Enchanted a holiday family movie.
Wow! So James Baxter is the reason why the animation in Enchanted is so much better than the animation in Disenchanted... I expected to find the same level of quality in the new movie, but I was very disappointed with that part.

I remember kinda yelling “WHAT IS IT WITH DISNEY AND ROACHES LATELY!!! I was still angry that Wall-e’s little friend was also, yup, a roach.

All of them are great
Amy was perfect for this. Can’t imagine Reese or Kate in the role.
I agree.
I also agree.
What if they didnt get amy, and got some one like Fran Drescher
I could see Reese but I love Amy in it
The only other actress I thought would be fitting was Nicole Kidman. But she doesn't have as beautiful singing voice as Adams.
The sweetest thing was how excited the Mary Poppins dance extra was about being a part of this movie. ❤️
I saw another clip, wherein some of the senior dancers had been in the original West Side Story--what a fun reunion they must have had!
RIP to Harvey Evans

As Galaxy Quest is to Star Trek, Enchanted is to classic Disney. Gently poking fun while honoring the best of the source material. What a great movie.
Enchanted is basically Disney poking fun at themselves
