Aside from the art style of the old one i really loved that the fights were longer
Gotta love how the author has to feel to make Yujiro look nervous but then it turns out he wasn’t even trying the whole time.
And he was nerfed too
Actually, in the manga Doppo threw Yujiro with one punch, making him look scared, and when Baki saw that expression on his father, Yujiro decided to use the demon back

Doppo was weaker than Jack at that point. Yujiro also let’s him absolutely wail on him in the manga to no effect. It’s a bait and switch, plain and simple.

Well, Doppo is the only character in the manga, who was able to land that many hits on Yujiro, and have Yujiro not bored to death during a fight.

勇次郎にしてみりゃ死に体でも破れかぶれじゃなく闘志剥き出しに向かってきてくれる独歩は実力以上に愉しい相手だったろうな。
I'm probably in the minority, but I loved the art style of this series. Yujiro looked so cool, but genuinely terrifying.
Baki is definitely one of my favourite genre fighting manga and anime...

I think Yojiro was being compassionate here, trying to give someone he respected a warriors death after a great fight.

He grabs his face with the thumb on the cheekbone, then he palm strikes the back of his own hand, either penetrating with his thumb or crushing the eye socket entirely
