In this video we build the Drawstring bag. From cutting out the pieces to making the shoulder strap. The template pattern for this project is available on our website www.makersleathersupply.com
Thank you for all your videos. Sometimes, we forget how lucky we are to have someone so willing to share their knowledge. Please know I appreciate you. I am looking forward to finishing the build on this bag.
Good job as usual! Making one today. Thanks for your time. And thank you for your service to our country, I and millions of other are in your debt,we appreciate you !!!
Hey Aaron, just a little suggestion from an old bag making lady for future reference. If you stop the side seams about 1/2" from the bottom, it is MUCH easier to sew on the bottom and makes a good square corner on your bag.
Great teaching. It comes across in ypur videos, that you and your family business cares about quality...I appreciate that aspect. I have ordered some templates from you before & hope to visit your store soon. And once you implement your new camera, please include the close up shots to detail the leather artistry. Thank you for sharing.
Good Video. Thank You. Out of curiosity what kind of price would someone sell that for.I have never made anything like that before. But it is something I could do. Once again, thank you for making these videos.
Great video. How long was the draw sting? How long would you make the shoulder strap and would you install a buckle in the shoulder strap for adjustment?
Great project Aaron, I’ve enjoyed building it. Would you please describe how you would go about adding a drop in liner for this bag? I tried to do it on my own and it turned out horribly 🤦♀️ Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks.
Aaron, do you always use the same foot for bags or do you switch. I just bought all the feet from LMC so I looking for guidance on how to use them on bags.
Normally I only use the standard left foot. Ince in a while I will put the double toe foot on if I am sewing some crazy area that the left wont fit the project.
Shoulder straps really are a matter of preference. Mine are normally 1.5" wide. The closure strap I normally took a 1" wide strap and folded it in half to sew then cut to a length that looks right.
Hi Aaron / Everyone! Has anyone made this into a back pack?? My wife is asking me to make her one with backpack straps. Can anyone shed some light on how to go about it??? Thanks in advance!!

Great job. Thank you for sharing. Please ignore the negative comments. Some people are just rude and petty.

What about cutting little slits in the corners to fan them out before sewing? Anyone tried that?
Thank for talking and explaining while your making your work it really great for a beginner like my self

Thank you for another cool project, I really enjoy you’re videos. My scissors do the same thing. Weird.
Cool video. learned a lot and chuckled some, too. :) Would love to make this bag.
I really like how your skiving machine is on a pedestal.
Just order the template set! Can’t wait to get it!! Your awesome Aaron!
Thank you very much, very helpful.
4 yers too late but I would of enjoyed seeing everything. Love your videos.
Hello I wish I had found you earlier. The videos that I have watched are really good especially the
2 minute videos
GOOD WORK
Not to mention you have a perfect first name!
@57:20 you might consider lazering the center line mark on the bottom of your Template and we'd have zero to measure... carry on ha ha ha
well done sir
Bravo! Good job!
Was wondering if you ever made a video on lining this? I can't find it if you did. Thanks

With just a little personalization or a tooled patch, $200 all day. With a matching tooled shoulder strap twice that much.
@@makersleathersupply1220 Thanks for the reply. Helpful

Good!!
Great, I wish I could have pattern
Beautiful purse, can you please tell me what type of edge guide are you using, and do you sell them?
The edge guide on my machine is called then drop down edge guide from Leather Machine Co. We do have them at our shop.
Where can I buy the two sided tape? I have a reputation with glue as well. Just started following you thanks for sharing your knowledge.
We have it at www.makersleathersupply.com

Great vid. Would it be possible to do a video showing how to put dividers inside a bag, not necessarily this bag.
We have a project coming up where that will be happening.
@@makersleathersupply1220 cool. Thanks for the swift reply
I've looked everywhere for finished size & can't find it. Can you give the dimensions, please?
Approximately 9" long, 6" wide and 10" tall
Liner??????
Aaron, did you film the finish on the strap?
I bought the template but need more info for the closure strap. (Width and length) and shoulder strap (width and length) please.

Aaron, I am wanting to order the draw string template and some leather. How much leather does this project take?
About 12 sf will be safe.
Do you still do the mystery box
Yes, every month it is available for purchase on our website from the 10th to the 15th. It ships the first week of the following month.
What rotary cutter do you use? I have a Fiskar that the blades do not stay sharp. What brand is the skiver you used and do you sell them?
I use whichever is closest. If the blades are easily dulling you might want to look at different cutting board options.

Hey Aaron, what size thread do you recommend for this project?
I like 138 for my bags. .8mm if hand sewing.
I should add, I want to machine sew this project. Hand stitching I can get the liner in fine, but machine sewing is a whole new problem for me
How where do i go to order the 5 cut out pattern. Thanks

What ounce of leather did you use for the bag?
It's a 5-6 oz oil tan. Light on the oil.
@@makersleathersupply1220 Would this bag work with a 2-4oz leather, or would I do better to use that as a lining?
4oz would be ok, but 2 is too light in my opinion.

I'll look into that. Shouldn't be too hard.
Makers Leather Supply Thank you very much!!
This a longer video. So I will pause it and be right back with another beer.
