You'd never hear lyrics like these in a modern song. Nobody feels this free any more. Maybe never again. Sometimes I think not having to buy albums in a shop would not have been so bad. Or listening intently for that one song on the radio to finally catch its name. The internet gave us a lot, but it's taken away a lot more.

Recuerdo la primera vez que escuché esta joya, era noviembre de 2019, me estaba bañando y el aleatorio de CZcams puso esta canción. Esa noche iba a salir con mis amigos, me encantó tanto que iba con uno de mis audífonos puestos mientras platicaba con mis amigos y caminábamos por la avenida principal. Tengo 53 años y voy a verlos a San Diego, CA en Nov 12. Único concierto que va a dar ELO en el mundo este año, Last train to London y canción favorita de rock en todos los tiempos, la llevo escuchando desde que salió su álbum Discovey en 1979
yo la escuche por primera en 2019 estaba en youtube y por el titulo me dio curiosidad (en esas epocas escuchaba mas queen o ac dc) entonces en mi mente dije algo como: cmo me va a gustar una cancion disco, entonces la cambie. Grave error y poco despues me la tope de nuevo y la escuche por completo, entonces descubri otro de mis gustos en la musica y cuando la escucho me recuerda mucho a una ciudad porque fui alli de vacaciones y durante ese tiempo escuchaba esta cancion a diario.

When I worked in radio I used to break format and play this song every Sunday night when I knew my boss was passed out, so anytime after seven pm. It was my big fu to what I saw coming, corporate owned radio stations and how they would ruin them
probably around august 2011. i was 15 and i was at my art class, my mom just left my violent (now gone) dad and i felt like some type of healthy happiness for the first time in years. so one of my classmates asked my teacher if she could put some music through my teacher's stereo, he said yes cause he was really cool and let us do any artistic thing we felt like doing. right after she got bored of her musical choices, i ran and through bluetooth i played this song at maxim volume. everyone in the class loved it, and my teacher congratulated me for picking up this song. i was really obsessed with last train to london back then because i was in a very hopeful state of mind.

Jeff Lynne and Elo have been so vastly underrated over the years -I think even though their music is mostly 'middle of the road'
pop music,they have produced some quality songs over the last few decades.Jeff Lynne is such a talented performer and so deserves more recognition than he has had in his career.'Discovery' must rate as one of my favourite albums.I just love every song on there.This is definitely a favourite with 'Mr Blue Sky' and 'Concerto for a Rainy Day'.I see that Jeff has been nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and rightly so.Such a great artist,songwriter and performer.He and Elo deserve it.

This is the track that many fans try using to downplay the album (because of the disco bass line).... It's a good album & it gets wrongly downplayed by many fans...
Tiger Rogers I find mostly only men can hear bass lines on music.. Unless it's really obvious.. I don't think women really understand what a bass sound is.. Or even look for it..

one of them mistyped a song, and almost skipped but stopped when I said “wait, I recognize this melody!”
shortly after, the “last train to london” part began to play, and I suddenly remembered why the melody sounded so familiar. I used to hear this music with my grandparents at 4 to 6 years old. I never thought I would get to hear it again until this happened! I can say I never felt more happy and relived so many memories at once.

CKLW was a country station where im from maybe there were two different stations of the same name. You know music makes life bearable even in the worse circumstance.
