    I've owned Honda, Toyota, Infiniti, Acura, Chevrolet, Volkswagen...etc. All have their selling points. Honda however, continues to shake-up the industry with these class-leading redo's. The Civic...WOWOWOW. Now the Accord. Great job Honda. I currently drive a 2016 ILX A-Spec. Great ride, but when the 2018 Accord is in the showroom, I'm off to the dealer.

    Beautiful inside & out. I'll get the 1.5L turbo in the most expensive trim with head-up-display. Quality material in the interior and plenty nice exterior. Beats the heck out of the 2018 Camry. In my mind, Toyota has cheapened the Toyotal line & especially their Lexus brand.

      Justin David I'm sure I'll have an uber in one soon and get a better feel. My thoughts as of now: the lower seating is questionable if close 2 the new civic. While I'd prefer it, the masses of people who are looking for a family car makes me wonder. My folks got a new camry (highest trim thats wasn't v6) which left me disappointed for what it's going for as well as vs my brothers current gen v6 camry. Like the lack of comfort. Oh those leather seats w/ adj lumbar are subpar both in comfort & soft leathery feel. Especially compared to new nissans I've been in which imo are best comfort in class.
      Looking at the fuel econ, the 2.0 accord doesn't look good vs the Camry @22/32 vs 28/38 but it's got more hp/tq & has to feel (and be) quicker over the 4banger in the Camry which when flooring was anemic. even though it's not a cvt & has ~200hp/tq.
      Inside I'm fairly confident I can give the edge (or more) to the accord vs the camry. Sure things feel well put together in the camry but it's not at the quality I would have hoped (quasi lexus) & not at current mazda, higher trim kia or nissan (for the most part)
      High(est) trim accords have had ~ acura level which looks to be the case here.
      Outside those full led headlights I think set it apart from the pack & like the refreshed design. All in all seems like a good all around family car but can't help think that they couldn't go all out because stepping on the heels of the stagnant acura .

    No one is actually reviewing the car; they're just driving it and giving pseudo impressions and regurgitating the press release - there is no real objective review going on in the 6 "reviews" I've watched... At least HPJ gave some "tips & tricks" in his video...it's a new car, it's supposed to drive nice but what does it do/not do better than the competition???

    • @EUC-lid
      @EUC-lid Před 6 lety +2

      All of these reviews are "first looks". Journalists are invited out to a press junket near some good smooth roads (or a track, if it's a performance car) with picturesque scenery where they sit through a few presentations, eat some expensive food, and are then given the cars for a few hours to get some pictures/video and some initial impressions. These cars are usually very early production and are sometimes a little buggy. Then the automaker gives them a press embargo that doesn't allow them to say anything about the vehicle in public (an NDA, basically) until a certain time and date (and sometimes prevents them from saying anything about the known bugs that won't be present in the production vehicles).. then everyone uploads their initial impression reviews on that date.
      At a later date the journalists get an opportunity to get a press car assigned to them that they then use for their full reviews. Press cars are full-on production cars. Most reviews occur after the journalists have had several weeks and hundreds of miles to do their testing. This is how every mainstream car release has worked for the past 15 years or so. It's such a good model that electronics are doing the same thing now. An Apple iPhone Launch Event is nothing more than a press junket where the press gets 15 minutes to paw at and film a new device before going back home and playing with a real one for a week or more.

My camry xse cost me 26500, and it had BSM, rcta, rctb( not sure if honda even offers rear braking) full led’s, even turn signals. Parking sonar, all 4 windows auto up and down( they only do fronts), leather heated seats powered both sides. You have to go to touring to get these things on accord. I really actually would like to buy this car in the 2.0 T sport version. But even that is more than my xse, and id be giving up a lot. So in essence , theyve pushed me out as a buyer with the packaging

    If someone wanted to get the Accord Touring because of the features & tech it offers, it's between $34-$36k depending on the engine whether you go for the 1.5T or the 2.0T. Not exactly affordable for that trim of the Accord

    I will be going with Honda and skip Toyota because they play big brother. I rather have android auto and Apple CarPlay.
