blackpink is THE group that got me into kpop and they are the biggest girl group out there right now, even smashing US records for female groups/artists. they were invited to perform at coachella and are the first korean girl group to do so! 3/4 of the girls speak fluent english and one of them understands english but isn’t comfortable speaking it just yet! i also want to mention that they’re muses/ambassadors for many top luxury brands such as chanel, YSL, dior, prada, adidas, mac etc. if you stick with these girls, their music will not disappoint, they always prefer quality over quantity which is why their discography is so small.
P.S. blackpink does not play around with music videos. they are known to have the most highly budgeted music videos in the kpop industry which explains the billions of views they have. all the sets are hand built for their use only! they have only ever used a green screen for a few seconds in an m/v

What an introduction
They trained from either 4-6 years. Debuted together since 2016. So anything from 8-10 years they’ve been together. They sound the same live, look the same, dance the same. Their vocals really aren’t messed with. They sound very good live. To hear their singing specifically their live cover of Miguel- Sure Thing is super dope. The rappers added raps they wrote in the middle but it’s totally live and gorgeous and all in English. They’re all fluent in a minimum of 3 languages. One (Dose) one was born NZ but raised in Australia (pink hair) and knows Korean, Japanese and English. Jisoo the one in the water is from Seoul knows some English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Lisa (bangs rapper) is from Thailand and was YG’s first non Korean signing. She’s fluent in Korean, Thai, and English. Lisa is their main dancer. She’s an absurdly talented dancer Jennie (in the mental institution outfit when rapping) was born in Korea but went to school in New Zealand and almost transferred to a school in Florida but quit and auditioned for YG. She’s fluent in English, Japanese and Korean.
They have Korean versions and Japanese versions. Same songs but obviously Japanese is in Japanese. In these live tour songs bangs Lisa raps strictly in English and Jennie mixed rapping English and Japanese.
YG is historically a hip hop oriented kpop label. One of the big three in south Korea. Their beats are insane. Their producer is teddy park who has every Blackpink beat created however two members helped write and create this particular beat. Teddy was a YG hip hop artist in the 90’s but prior to that lived in the United States for 17 years so in terms of beat section they have a more rap/EDM type beat in their music.

Thanks for givin a try to react to one of BP's related content, eventhough their production not the type of your daily consumption, at least i'm glad you still can vibin with one of their song. FYI, BLACKPINK mainly focus their music on several elements like Hip Hop, RnB, Trap Beat and General Poppy Vibes but what made their musicality stand out among worldwide artists is each of their songs are very versatile or multi-combine-genre type of production. Majority of their current released is kind of up beat songs type but there's also some another side of their musicality with slow accoustic ballad style too ("STAY", "HOPE NOT", "YOU NEVER KNOW").
So far, almost all of their MVs production are always incorporate real set design without any use from green screen. If there is one MV that using green screen, that's just for a split seconds part in one of their old debut songs called "WHISTLE" back in 2016.
Btw, welcome to BLACKPINK's rabbit hole... there is some specific ways to
enjoy the journey while reaction to any BP's songs:
1. In my own personal POV, reacting to incoming BP's reaction is more preferable by the date of release in every MV/Music Video (start from 2016 'til current release 2020), so you can feels the vibe clearly and see how BLACKPINK growing their special presence start from a KPOP girlgroup into became one of current biggest worldwide pop-band. On extra note, in their main chanel they had plenty exclusive playlists of behind the scene making music video, dance practice/performance and live stage performance. Also one of BP members which is Lalisa Manoban (Lead Rapper/Main Dancer/Sub-vocalist) already had separate project (mainly solo dance performance) in her own youtube chanel called Lilifilm Official.
2. If you still gonna react to their other songs/MVs/Music Videos from their main chanel please make sure to turn on the ENGLISH CC/close caption buttton near the "setting button" on youtube window for better understanding, you dont need to search other alternatif translation for every their Music Video. But one important thing is make sure not to use the "auto translate/auto-generate" cause it's always givin a heavy mistranslation to the whole lyrics in the wrong way, then made the lyrics sounds very weird and totally doesn't make sense to read)
3. In their MVs or Music Videos, BLACKPINK and their production team always put some hidden "moral symbolism" in some background part of the scene with such an intention to put more further explanations to the whole lyrics in the song. For a fact, i would say that being a part of real BLINKS family is not an easy task, you may say or labelling yourself as baby blink in first impression while slowly still discovering BP musicality step by step. But to be honest and be deeper personally, later you will notice that these ladies had been through so many shitty things for years like non-stop almost every single days especially in online platform.
The way you can survive and not blindly affected by hate speech on your comment section will strongly proving you either you really had a honest intention to be a BLINK or just to be fan of few of their songs. Blackpink has a variety of sounds and their songs are all bops, so chances are you'll find something that's more your style when you get into more of their songs. Their name "Blackpink" refers to their concept/range, the color black representing the badass/fierce side and color pink would be pretty/bubbly side. IMO the sound of Lovesick Girls is somewhere in the middle but closer to their pink side. I suggest you check out their cover of Miguel's song "sure thing". It is a live performance, all in English. It is really good. While trainees it was a song they performed for their monthly evaluations, and it was the first time they as a group received high praises from the CEO. When they were on a TV show called party people they were asked to perform a song they wished was their own, and they chose to perform it for the reason above. They did all the vocal arrangements themselves and the 2 rappers wrote the rap part as trainees.

"..born to be alone.." I believe it's not meant to be dark or cynical. If you could observed the led lighting sign behind when them when they were dancing, it read "born , die , alone". It's true that most people were borned /came into this world alone unless twins, triplets etc and certainly most people usually die alone. In the context of love, one is born to be alone and is lonely until we find our partner ..... that's why they're still looking for love... just my thoughts.

Yup i totally agree with your explanation dude. For this song it's kinda not a wise choice to make an objective interpretation base on just from one line.
When we pick the shortest meaning on "but we were born to be alone" part, of course it will sound absurdly sad and feels hopeless but it would give us a whole completely different meaning into the song when we combines with part that sayin "but why we still lokin' for love" mixing with the background detail putting words symbolism [born, die, alone], i mean it's pretty much our main life-cycle as a biological creature.
The easiest way to describing all of BLACKPINK's songs 'til now are probably about the roller coaster of human's emotional journey.

Did I mention blackpinks live cover of miguels song sure thing? Lol but for real as vocal coach I think may interest you. Also it’s hard to dissect the lyrics without hearing them all. Blackpink is about the black side of them and the pink side. Black is tough and badass and pink is pretty soft and flowy.
