Best thing is : *NO* Commentary
Indeed. Just pure, awesome talent.😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
It certainly is a trait of this video.
yea man I hate commentary
I came here just to hear: "Awaken my child and embrace the glory that is your birthright." So badass start..
Mod operandi of every Zerg unit overall in general too. "You're born, now get to work, go kill and take a hit for me. GO!"
But as a Cerebrate, you're basically just pulsating mass of synapses. Don't know about you, but something about that has gotta suck.
@@Quetzen Zergs never die, we respawnz!
@@craigore2011 Would you prefer "Live for the swarm!, Sacrifice me!" instead?
@@CP-jk3tc It's not about what I prefer, I was just pointing out the horror of it.
The zerglings noises are everything
And for a looped theme, I'm still somehow addicted to the zerg theme
When I was a kid, the zerg building noises scared me so much I couldn't finish the game when I was playing AS THE ZERG.
But now they're my favorite
Terrans songs are the best tho
One of the most memorable intro ever.

The overmind is like talking to us like we r a new celebrate, a part of his council
I always love this concept
i like how you mention speedrun in your titles, but listen to briefings carefully.
You gotta love the sheer gravitas in the overmind's lines. Ever word from his mouth sounds like a prophet speaking to his people. Even if the Zerg had free will they might willingly follow the overmind to death or glory.
It's actually the voice of Amon. The Overmind was actually very brave and intelligent, but the Overmind was trapped, screaming inside, since Amon controlled everything the Overmind did. The only way the Overmind could be free was in death, and the Overmind had to pass on the Zerg to a mind powerful enough to independently lead them. That was why the Overmind trapped Kerrigan and turned her into a Zerg. He knew she would bring the Protoss to Char, who would touch a Cerebrate to learn of his true plan and also learn the location of Aiur, where the Overmind could finally die and in doing that pass on the Zerg to Kerrigan, so they would finally be free and rid of Amon's grasp.
Best scene of this series was when the marines were on that science vessel and were ambushed by the damn Zerg, that scene was epic and I kinda felt scared myself haha. Poor marines didn’t make it, I used to play as the terrans. So many epic battles against my friends who were way better then me at this game. Just the sound of the marines dying on the battlefield either getting swarmed by the Zerg or going up against the superior alien race aka the Protoss. This game just reminds me back when I was young. I would do anything to go back to that time.
same dude i’m thinking about buying a pc to have my friends who already have one play with me i miss the good ole days at the teen center in my town and we’d have the whole map filled up during multiplayer
The sound design of the Zerg (especially the overminds voice) has always been my favorite
This game was awesome. Played it my first year of university way back in the day. I treated myself to missions after lecture or an assignment or homework was completed. Someone down the hall from me also had a copy and we played together vs cpu and it was always a blast.
I love that each race finds some reason to raid a Terran facility at some point or another and extract a muguffin lol
McMuffin
I just love the overmines voice. Badass
I dont think it's just his voice, its HOW he speaks ... its biblical. An example is thus:
He could say: "Kill the Humans!"
but instead, what he says is: "Upon this rock, the testament of my will shall be written in the blood and bones of those resist my judgement."
I remember how young I was when I started mission 2, I got this game from my dad and when I was having a lot of trouble on this map cause I didn't know what to do, he told me I had to kill everything on the map and he'll give me a cheat code to get to the next level... but I was so young I didn't know I had to move the drone to get the cocoon.. Guess he didn't pay attention enough, cause he just gave me all the cheat codes. used 'operation cwal' so many times. This game will forever be in my heart.
Remember when Spawning Pool was 150 minerals? I guess they didnt update this mission.
God the nostalgia. Thanks for taking the time to make and post this.
Back when StarCraft was not just a hit, but an era living in one of the most badass centuries towards crossing the millennium that we, especially those who lived through the intensity of possible Y2K & have witnessed its greatness & achievements! The old StarCraft series including Brood war was so way of its time, finely and violently made to introduce its brutality and impressive graphics at that time, & I was 6 years old back then, my cousin brothers introduced me (they've played way earlier than me since I'm tye youngest of them all) to this game, running through campaigns, especially when it came to the Zergs, the gameplay, sound effects and the theme music, all were just so terrifyingly executed, which I remember freaking out to the overall StarCraft universe, which they've brilliantly brought out the way darker atmosphere & splendidly written story telling. My point is besides the Zerg, no matter which faction you choose be it playing as Protoss or Terran, it somehow managed to frighten & make you scared or terrified to its story, gameplay, cinematics & music! The whole StarCraft universe was enough to play mind tricks on your mentality, like dragging you into the worlds of cosmic battles and events which was all whole new mind blowing experiences back then! Back when video games, movies & music were so dark, mature & terrifying; just personally gotta admit that I was fortunate enough to be a kid that matures through such badass era to have had terrific experiences & exposures. Miss it already, watching & still playing StarCraft until today is one of the best things in my life! Wish I could just go back & get them feels once more with my cousin brothers & siblings.. I can just keep going on & on non stop like no enough facial expressions or words can describe how beautifully made games, music & movies were back then, & how they've become sentimental gems in their own rights! Ah, old times ..😊
Stu thanks for the gameplay, binged all campaigns this weekend!
It still catches me off guard whenever the Overmind fails to burst into song during his first speech. Too much Radio Free Zerg I guess...
How do like my moves, Daggoth?
I have watched your terran and zerg videos and I am amazed that you can finish the game without upgrading your units...👏👏👏
If you know the map layout you can exploit the game much more easily
The Zerg Music was always my favorite 🔥
So much skill 10/10
I'm here in 2024 :) Starcraft 1 never gets old.
Thank you for uploading!!!
The only way you could have made the Amerigo cutscene more of an homage to the Alien movies is if you'd had the marines looking for a cat. That first fella got the full Brett treatment.
1:20:15 - Damn, I didn't even realise that the stupid Zeratul was the sole reason for the destruction of Aiur
Yeah for real. It just makes him seem kind of dumb.
If there was nothing between kerrigan, and jim, why did she call out for him while being turned into the Queen of Blades?
Thanks for posting these! I absolutely love the game of Starcraft even though I suck at it! I look up to guys like you and giant grant games who are so good at it! You, sir, are truly a master of your craft: the STAR CRAFT! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I now know from where starcraft story came from. The high templar at 1:23:10 survived to tell the tale :)
Hahaha, I'm just watching and marvelling how he's being evaded by hungry horde time and again:D
Note a slight bug in the campaign - The Overmind mentions Kerrigan's visions at 14:00, but we don't actually get to SEE them until later. (26:00 to be precise)
Is that a bug or just good writing? Kerrigan was sending out psionic messages all the time she was in the chrysalis
because of these walkthoughs i know how to play the game better, i know what specific routes give best results. thank you so much for this 6 year old walkthough
The Amerigo cutscene terrified me as a teen... I imagined that would be what hell feels like. No hope, enemies coming at you from all sides, and they cannot be talked to... they just want to kill you, to eat you. It made them truly terrifying... truly real.

KERRIGAN ALIVE
Brings back memories ^^
I hate that they removed "..., Cerebrate?" part form Kerrigan's original "Yes, Cerebrate?" quote.
I barely understand what is happening but i love it
I like the parts where the Terrans lose and the Zerg win
I've wondered for a long time: What exactly is the win condition for the zerg mission where you're protecting a mature chrysalis from Duke and the dominion. Is it blowing up every enemy production building?
Protect the Chrysalis until it's ready to hatch.
(After 10 minutes) Infest or destroy Raynor's Command Center.
(After 10 minutes) Kerrigan must survive.
@@jetaimemina That's not the mission they meant. They're referring to mission 3 where you fight the Dominion and not Raynor's band. And yes , destroying all production buildings and units is the win condition.
This is some good ASMR.
God’s I miss playing this...
Really enjoyed your playthrough, helped me out many times to finish game faster, would you make Brood war speedrun too or is there more then enough of them on CZcams?
@@StuGames well get better soon
Some people put on The Office while they sleep. I put on this.
51:00 - If only Zasz knew, if only he knew.
Also, am I do only one getting "Shut up, Meg" vibe from this Zasz "guy"?
@Stu YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE GENIUS!!! ❤🤗😘
The Invasion Of Aiur is so tough, I can get past the Teal Protoss (First wave) but once I start to hit yellow protoss, the orange come with carriers etc, going to try and mine loads of minerals, set up a great defense and wipe out the lot of them.. not going to just get the crystal.
Watching this gameplay is a lot different than when I played this game as a 10 year old.
really like your vids ceep teh good work going my friend :D
I love purple Zerg
hey man great videos! id love to see a remastered version of this campaign i love starcraft but sadly i wasnt gifted with a high APM RTS type brain instead i got a linear twitchy fps potato brain so id rather just watch than play it hahaha
im still sad that the starcraft Ghost fps game got cancelled :(
The hydras autoattacks looks and sound better in sc1, dunno why they changed that
49:52 This must be a reference to that Terran mission Blizzard deleted
Hi Stu, first of all, thanks for sharing these Walkthrough :) it helped me a lot. I was trying to work thru the story, but my skills failed so far.. i struggled with the terrran last mission as well as with the 8th mission of zerg. My army was shooten down completely multiple tries. In the last zerg mission I tried with your way of going through the temple. However, I had a bigger army like in your video (2x12 hydras, 12 zerglings, 1 ultra) but it gets completely cleaned up. Do you have to attack before a specific time? Or did they make the campaign harder in the free2play version in comparison to the original game?
I don't think there's a specific timing, but if you wait longer the enemy will probably have more units! That's why it's important to build so many workers in the beginning, so you can then produce units much more quickly than the opponent and overwhelm them.
For the last terran mission, it might be easier to do a kamikaze attack with mass battlecruisers or wraiths, if the ghost strategy is too finnicky.
@@StuGames AWAKEN MY MASTERS
You can also wipe out every last Protoss on the map, then waltz up to the undefended temple.
I love the protoss
Nostalgia overlord
Ooof. "The Concubine of the Zerg". That one by Zeratul has to be among the sickest burns I've ever heard. Jeezs...
I have to ask, which version of the game is this? I see a old fashioned explosions as well as character portraits, but as someone else has pointed out, parts of dialogue such as "yes, Cerebrate" have been altered..
Not the dialogue but in-game speech, I should have said.
I played star craft a long time ago
Don't you have any zerg campaign remastered version?
I do for Broodwar
How to fast chose unit and switch? Its hard when i just control 8 unit
50:59 foreshadowing
the hatchery looks so small in sc1
My favourite is the zerg
7:53 Attack
Imagine taking less than 10 hours a campaign to finish it.
This post made by the "BadAtRTSGames" gang.
Majin Buu should come out of this egg... way better than some Kerrigan
spoilers if not played SC2 yet.
overmind feared the future and yet still willing to be part of the hybrid? or from seeing that future and knowing he wont be in full control later. making Kerrigan is his hope to break the zerg free from this outside force that's controlling them. and I guessing he knows he has to go and that's another reason he made her.
1st timeline no one give a damn about being nice anymore, busy being depressed and top dogs. giving Amon a winning edge. and kerrigan would never become powerful. she would've died in the middle of Heart of the swarm while she's half human. and there wont be a legacy of the void. all because Zeratul was never given the vision of the dark future.
2nd timeline "???" give Zeratul the same vision that the overmind had and kerrigan is the "key" for a better future. if she's indeed a key for a better future. than what else was there to lose? he showed her the birth world of the zerg and that turned the tables of the future. not only for her but also for Artanis. legacy of the void is a new timeline created because of this change thanks to Zeratul.
so meaning from the 1st game is actually the 1st universe version. and the 2nd game is the 2nd version would explain why the story turned out so differently. that's my theory guess why they both have different vibes. unlike Diablo 3, starcraft had a excuse why it's so different.
for me to complete one zerg mission it takes 1 hour
22:03
I just realized that the cerebrates are not in SC 2
Yep.
Kerrigan killed them all to make sure only she controled the Swarm.
Yes they could resurrect the overmind, or more accurately, combine to form a new one. So during the brood war Kerrigan killed them all.
She then modified the queens to provide the psionic control that the cerebrates used to provide.
@@RainAngel111 what's super weird about this, is she still addressed the player as a cerebrate. She obviously had 1 she trusted to lead the smackdown on all who opposed her.
01:01:41
still laugh a little 49:09
caramba o jogo era feio pra caramba ainda bem que lançou o 2 credo
Starcraft 2 failed with the Zerg atmosphere, bad story telling, crappy sound effects and no chilly music
