5 seconds into theme... ''Up next on ITV is the semi-final round of Britain's Got Talent. Then stay tuned as we're back in the jungle, with day 3, of I'm A Celebrity Get Me out Of Here. Then we conclude the evening with our 9pm film classic, Love Actually''... music ends. Cue McDonald's advert.

I was fascinated by this mini-series after hearing the theme by Clannad so many years ago. I wondered what the meaning of the title was "Harry's Game", but as the story progressed, it became apparent that it revolved around a cat-and-mouse game between Harry Brown and Billy Downes, each trying to hunt down the other. As the ending here goes, it ends on the tragic note that both men were killed, and the lesson that violence begets violence. For the Troubles of Northern Ireland, it was a never-ending conflict of such violence, and the only way to end it was the Good Friday Agreement in the desire for peace. Still, it's a very depressing story that demonstrates how violence will keep going if both sides seek it...

Wow. i only recently discovered the theme from "Harry's Game" and it was such a moving piece, I had to look up the context. Just from this scene alone, I can sense the power and poignancy of the story. As an American who was a child of the '90s, I have vague memories of seeing news segments on TV discussing The Troubles as things led up to the signing of the Good Friday Agreement. No matter where and how it manifests, violence in the names of differing political and religious views never leaves people and things the same as before, but I hope that everyone who lived through and was affected by those awful times in Ireland are now finding healing. Healing and peace are always worth striving for, whatever the cost. Blessed be. )O(

It was shown in 1983. i think it was repeated in 1984 the second time it was broken down into 3 episodes the begining title was at the underground station and excluded the map at the beginnning. The second version also had some scenes not in the earlier transmitted version like Harry inside the Belfast post Office and an extended scrapyard scene..

Being independent of mind I can like everyone despite their believes and prejudices or colour. As long as they are have a good heart and sole. But that doesn’t seam enough for the majority. I believe religion has been a way of policing their people since the beginnings of tribes. So many different gods and worships is very harmful to the minds of the followers.
