Thanks for talking about the intake vents. That’s not commonly discussed in review videos. Would be great if you could do a Kleenex test on your intake vents to see how powerful they pull in air. The test you did with balls of cat hair was genius - was that done on full blast? Don’t know why the intakes can’t be as powerful as the fan component.

I purchased the coway Airmega IconS and it’s shaped like your old coway, but the intake is at the back while the fan is at the top. I thought the fan at the top was an intake before I purchased. Disappointing. It’s getting returned.

My only hesitation from buying this Blueair unit is that the design resembles public trash cans you will see on sidewalks and at parks here in the U.S. So it will look like having a trash receptacle in the middle of my living room. If I purchase the white version, they are older models. I wish they offered color options for their newer models.

App is practically useless on a purifier, it's not giving much new options on top of what already can be done from the unit itself. So "connected" purifier is a gimmic in my opinion.

Hey, just wondering if you're certain you installed the air filters on the Blueair 5410i in the correct configuration (ie, one arrow pointing down, the other up). @@Pablito46 how is it upside-down? This unit sucks air in from bottom and top intake. It has 3 layers of cleaning: mesh for large particles, carbon filter for smells and then the last so called HEPA filter. Hard mesh goes first, then carbon filter for smells and then HEPA for fine dust as per the arrow direction. Filter removal may have been shot multiple times so it might have been twisted in the process. That's why I tell you follow the arrow and the manual.

I think the air purfiers dont really work, i bought shark air purfier 6 fans, for small room its sits right dead next to my left side of my bed so its blowing in my face, and after long day at work me and friend sweaty and lay on bed and we leave the apartment/room for a good while and odor still stays in room, and have a laundry basket in my room, it doesnt get ridd of oder, , unless i turn it off sometine to see if it smells any different...but for most part maybe airpurfiers are just ideal for restrooms,
Or i got the wrong one, i just got shark cuz it mentioned COVID19 on it and flu,
And sharks are my favorite animals LOOOOL
But no yeah it doesnt help with odor , am gonna return it , hate to do it cuz was just happy clean air was blowing in my face at night , but yeah looking at reviews to see if change my mind returnibg it have warranty on it with geeksquad anyway so im just gonna return it and save money lol

thanks for sharing! Shark makes some good products and some are not so cool. Their purifier sucks... unfortunately not literally... As they just recently started making these, a lot of trial and error is going through them. Now, what should you get? I suggest brands that specialize in purifiers and have charcoal filters, these puppies are made to suck in odor. Try BluAir, their price/quality ratio is good. Just make sure to select a purifier based on the criteria I highlighted in the video. The room size they advertise on a box is at max speed. So if you want your purifier to push air properly at quiet speeds get a bigger one. Hope this helps!

    • @RomanDoes
      @RomanDoes  Před rokem +1

      That sounds like extortion! 😃
From what I see, without testing it or knowing why you need a purifier (pets, dust, allergies etc or what room you need it for), I have these major problems with it:
      1. It has to stand in the middle of your room. Tripping hazard right there with wire etc. I don't know where you live, but I would not be able to place it like that. Otherwise this design is not effective, we tested it with dust magnet.
      2. They claim it can clean up to 650sq.ft. which is bs, this is on highest speed and it gotta be noisy, so if you run it on low or silent speed, expect max 200-300 Sq.ft room capacity. BTW, entire space has to be an open space.
      3. 20w wireless charger is cute, but I'm not sure if I will be using it at the end of the day.
These are my insights without even trying it. I'm more of a wall side purifier guy 😃

I already own an airmega 400 (the graphite colored one) and have it in my living room. I have been pleased with its performance and have been considering buying another for my bedroom. Then I saw the Icon. The icon is much nicer looking and my bedroom isn't huge, so I thought that the icon, albeit pricey, would still work for me while looking nice.

@@RomanDoes no, cat DANDER is airborne. Hair may be briefly suspended in air before it lands bc of… gravity. 😮 that’s when you vacuum it. Dust magnet is designed with bottom filters that suck… ground level debris.. like cat hair. Your other device probably just picked it up from your cat being near it. If you feel you are swimming in airborne cat hair then you probably should tie a roomba to a balloon or use a magical broom.

the hairball test was pulled in with max setting. Keep in mind air purifier is not a vacuum cleaner, it was done for demo purposes to show how it works.
When it comes to intake, it's usually equal to the outgoing force, just on the intake you have more barriers (filters) to go through, so it looks as if it pulls less air.
