I saw that you took the photos with 100mm macro at f20, why and didn’t you have diffraction?

Amazing!!! How do you make the image look kinda dreamy ? Especially the hair the light looks veeeery soft
Thank you! ☺ I used a large octabox with a diffuser which gives the lighting a very soft effect, I also had a black board at the side of the model to absorb more of the light and produce those deep soft shadows. 😊

I actually edited this set in Capture One 🙊 So I'm definitely planning on doing more tutorials for that!

Thank you Tarlie! I make slight adjustments to my setup whenever I shoot, so on this occasion I had a large octabox with a diffuser set high and angled down in front of the model. I also had a black board to the side of Charlotte which helped absorb even more light and produce the deeper/softer shadows. 🙂

Hi Kayleigh! I am a complete newbie in retouching. Please make a video on what is more better for retouching? - Ipad or MacBook? That would be soooo helpful!! Also i really want to take your retouching course but u have not provided any equipment details like what should we get....Laptop, touchpad, pencil? Please also mention that
You need a laptop/pc. Capture One, Camera RAW or Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and a Graphics tablet
what about the power of light ^^ or you are working on TTL mode !! SO please if you can answer just tell us about the power of ligt setup

One light? or two lights?
Why do you use f 20 when you shoot?
Why f20?
The light in the room was incredibly bright that day, and I have no blinds on the windows haha.
I wanted a very dark and soft effect, so due to the limits of my strobes and not being able to lower the power anymore, I had to adjust my apreture accordingly 🙂
@@KayleighJune Thanks Kayleigh, I was just very curious to know just how you had set an aperture so closed. Personally I would have increased the shutter speed to 1/2000 maybe if not more and lowered the ISO (also to avoid the deterioration of the dynamic range), but they are obviously personal considerations. Happy to follow your tutorials on CZcams which are always a source of inspiration. Thanks

I unfortunately don't believe I have the option with HSS with my current strobe kit as my strobes/transmitter are meant to sync at around 1/125 sec, so any higher shutter speed settings aren't really possible with my lights/transmitter currently. 🙂

Thanks for showing bts. I don't mean to be rude but couldn't help noticing your camera/hand holding technique. Do you suffer from any stresses or strains? I am a little concerned for your long term health. (meant in a helpful way)
Not at all, it's been 15 years of holding my camera this way, so I've definitely had time to strengthen my arm muscles :)
