Friends of mine, brings whissel in clubs in late 1990, and nearly forced the DJ to play Rollins and scratchin by forcing it from the dance floor.
People thinking this is ahead of its time need to listen to more 90s electronic stuff !!! I hear Daft Punk on the radio in 95, now imagine the stuff that wasn't in the radio...
Honestly this performance is a cut above, even compared to more underground stuff. Definitely other futuristic stuff happening at that time but Daft Punk were very much the real deal IMO

Those are off the top of my head who I regularly still listen to, though you can just listen to DP's song Teachers and youtube every name they say on there because that's where their sounds come from. lol
This was 25 years ago, and if this song was released tomorrow, I'd lose it because it would still feel mind blowing. Proud to have listened to them since the release of Discovery. I will continue to listen deep into old age.
Best Daft Punk era ! Live shows with real machines, 909s , 808s, etc … and also releasing material for Roule and Crydamoure. Pure filtering disco loops or techno and NO robots.
I saw them in 97 at Sonar in Vancouver. No words can describe that night. The best ever.

there isn’t a DVD of the full show but I do have a DVD called “D.A.F.T” which has all the music videos from homework plus rollin and scratchin live with a cool feature that lets you switch between angles to make your own music video, quite unique and definitely worth the 50 cents I paid for it

This was the same footage from the documentary when they talked about Tomas being the first guy to have a computer in Paris. So graceful to be here in the middle of electronic music at 27, but still aware of the people before me. Exciting time for electronic music, still.

Would’ve enjoyed more than a nanosecond at a time of seeing them work the drum machines
possibly their best tune. i remember buying discovery then homework this was a suprise. is it techno? industrial? noise porn? it's a work of genius very punk very simplistic yet complex all in one. and an absoute weapon of a tune. it reminds me of the entity soundtrack.
I'm never getting tired of this record. So energetic, so creative and so bangin.
