kmel is my favorite! so raw and original! i remember meeting him in '99 at washington square park in nyc where he danced with the tic and tac brothers. He had these huge gnarly callouses on his hands from doing 2000's on the streets- i had never seen anything that raw, in person, before and was blown away! i've only been star-struck once and that was with kmel, i was too shy to throw down. he talked about the mindset of bboying, called it "the art of falling down". being ready to throw down any time, any where.
