I won't be surprised if he has an 'A' or the 'C' on his chest within the next several years. I knew he was destined for great things while a Seattle Thunderbird. And it's just the first taste of it. The best is yet to come

I guess we'll find out this season as Barzal will now have to face the opponent's best checking line and defensive pairing. He was shielded from that because Tavares played against the best D pairings.

Tavares was the Isles #1 center so opposing teams keyed on his line first and foremost. My first comment wasn't to slight Barzal, I'm just saying that now that he's centering the #1 line, we'll find out how good he really is.
Baba Yaga this isnt NHL 18... teams match up their lines on whos playing better at the moment... stats dont lie look who he was facing each game halfway through the year

Let’s see if Barzal produces without Tavares. He’s the next Moulson. It was Tavares that made barzal good.
How could you watch this video and say that? If you actually watched the video, you'd see that Tavares had nothing to do with any of his goals/best plays. Other than the PP, they didn't even play together.
Barzal is point per game this season without JT, just saying
