Just ordered this today after watching your review. I cannot wait to start practicing with this deck. It truly sounds amazing!
It's so good!
Thanks for the review and telling us how to get the most out of the tutorials. This one review is worth being a member.
Glad it was helpful! It's only a member preview - it goes live tomorrow
This is one thing about Craig petty tricks You get your moneys worth A mentalist dream deck the trailer blows peoples minds..Phil Smith cards are amazing 👏👏👏
even going as far back as Cinemental
Great review. Waiting for mine to arrive. A question though, is the tuck case similar in size with a standard playing card tuck box?
tall, yes = thickness, no
I love this and thank you for your advise on these videos.
I'm so glad!
@@magicorthodoxy I think this will sell out. PS I own 4 decks just in case.
Your review did it for me, David. I'm buying this. 👍
Fantastic!
Thanks David. Just cracked open this project and felt a little overwhelmed because there's so.much. Your guidance helps me a lot
You're definitely the best. 😊
Glad it helped!
I'm sold. Definitely going to pick this up.
hope you like it
Great review of a wonderful mentalism utility device. You would be well served to follow David's advice on how to proceed through the large amount of tutorials included with your purchase. That being said, I found video #9 to be very entertaining and full of cleaver ideas that do a great job of placing the focus of the effect on the spectator and not the performer. So much fun and so much to learn for your hard earned money. David, I would probably have skipped over this jewel had it not been for your usual terrific guidance through the magic market place. Thanks again!
happy to help !!!
Thank you for your feedback on the order of the instructions. We’ll keep that in mind for our next Craig petty release - not sure when this one will be released though, Craig’s going on 37 hours of instructions so far. He’s locked us in the studio and won’t let us out. 😂
No worries!
This is such an incredible project. And Video 5 is brilliant-just watched it this morning. Thanks, David!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello David! Thank you for bringing us a @Craig Petty week. I'm stoked - thanks for the great channel and consistently insightful videos!!
thanks for watching !!!
I also expect Evoke to sell out! It is an amazing, engaging piece of Mentalism! Only connect!
I recently had my foot down as I'm not going to buy any more magic tricks for a while. But Dam it David, Your reviews are always so good, you make me feel like a fat kid in a Candy store. I can't fight this gonna much longer.
🤣🤣🤣
This is awesome! Got a few things from Craig on the list! Can’t wait to see all these!
Hope you enjoy!
Wow🎉 this is incredible ❤ Amazing review David!
Glad you liked it!!
@magicorthodoxy OMG this is a magic trick on steroids! Amazing 💥
Thank you so much for not only reviewing this project, but also for offering a system of how to best go through the tutorials. Craig Petty is one of my favorite magic creators. We had the pleasure of meeting him at Magic Live last year and talking with him quite a bit. He is just as passionate about his projects, and magic in general, in person. Thanks again!
You're very welcome!
Great advice, David
Thanks, i'll be here all week
Hi David, thank you so much for this excellent and insightful review. I am hoping to attend Blackpool and watch Craig Petty demonstrate this. Thank you so much for all you do! Your friend, David
Have fun!
Great review David 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
I love this deck
I have it and haven’t put it down. Learning the reading and just jazzing with feels amazing.
Im taking my time with learning everything. Everyday there’s something new to practice and play with. Thanks for the review
me 2
As usual a cracking and informative review.
Glad you enjoyed it
What does evoke teach about telepathy 🎉?
G'day mate, looks like another great idea from Craig. Somehow This bloke just keeps producing. Cheers David.
AGREED !!!
Thanks David for the helpful review. After watching Craig’s trailer one can even skip video one😂. The best bit for me was video 9. So glad that they got Ian on board the project in the last minute ❤.
And even (or because of) there is no need to memorize- this is the first thing I’ve done. It’s only half a deck and way easier than mnemonica 😅. So this was almost a no brainer (couldn’t resist the pun). Keep on hyping the good stuff and saying nice things about the not so good stuff. Thanks 🙏🏻.
come back all week for more
I think I will get this just for fun but not for "practical usage". As often with Craig Pettys products and ideas there are the problems of "language barrier" and "justification". How in hell can I justify carrying an "awkward" esoteric motivation deck and how will this work in front of an non English speaking audience? At the end of the day it will be like always for me: Looking and learning the principle and rebuilding the whole damn thing to fit my needs...
understood
One of those (bumps brow) of course!
🤣
Bought this day 1. Almost the moment it was released. I’m so excited to work with this deck. It was good timing, we just got over 100cm of snow so nobody is moving anytime soon.
Hope you enjoy it!
The holder for this is made by Tony Antoniou - The Mind Hacker
are you talking about the outside box?
@@magicorthodoxy no. A leather wallet
I have not seen a leather wallet as part of this project
It isn’t David which is why I referenced the maker. It is a beautiful leather wallet/card holder that is perfect for the Evoke cards. Really makes them an EDC. As two time Tarot Reader of the Year it really lifts the public’s perception of the cards. Don’t know how to include an image here.
I guess if you didn't want the helpful cribs on the included box
Is this a DVD or a download?
It is _extremely_ rare to get a DVD, if at all. It's pretty much always a link and password to a website.
what DMR said
Great review!! I bought it on release day. So many good "decks" like these that appear as some other kinds of cards you might have in cupboards or on shelves. They are all packaged to look authentic without looking "gimmicky." The "A.B.See" and "Memoraid" cards are great examples along with "Evoke." This deck has so many elements you can pick and choose what works for you. There are a LOT of videos!
I would offer one bit of advice with all these decks as given by each of the creators...Do NOT handle any of these decks as a deck of playing cards. No fancy shuffles, triple cuts, flourishes or any that looks like a "card move." If you make it look like any kind of card trick, you're DOA. There are appropriate slights, some simple false shuffles, cuts maybe a double lift that work. Just my opinion.
now I want to go back through my other tutorials and see if any of them can be done with evoke
Fully agree - the nice thing is that the cards are in landscape mode, so they do not resemble playing cards in any way, especially if you handle them in “landscape mode”😉. Unfortunately this principle has gone out of the window in the card board packing😂 (which I don’t us anyway)
@@cart6069 Very true on the landscape view. The effectiveness of selling the "non-playing card" aspect through landscape went by me as I take in the other 10,000 'features' of the cards.
The fact he put "30 cards" on the box is a clever subtlety since there are 26 alphabetic cards in play.
Craig is an absolute legend
100% agree, it's going to be a fun week
This is great. The cards look amazing! It should be released in different languages.I,m Dutch and allthough in The Netherlands most people speak and understand the English language very well, not every word and quote is understood. In that way ,you lack the emotional connection. This is probably the reason i,m gonna pass on this.

The one thing I don't like about Craig's videos that I've experienced with Cube 52 is the length. 9 hours of tutorials is great. Having to go back to the beginning of the video to check a time stamp of later in the video to skip through and find a specific effect I'm looking for is too annoying. It's not like a 30 minute video that tells you everything you need to know. If I get a single video of 2 hours with 9 total parts, I'd like an easier way of navigating it. I was able to make one of my own for Volume 1 of Cube 52, but that took ages, purely because I had to find the exact timestamp cuts and plug it in to a separate program myself. With all the editing that goes into it (an intro and outro with music for a 30 second introduction for every chapter?) it wouldn't be that difficult to include that in the final cut.
Don't get me wrong, I love the effects, the ideas, and his CZcams videos. It's just when you provide a lot of content, it'd be nice to have an easy way to navigate it.
that's why I offered that advice in the video about how to best navigate it
Great review. 🎉 You forgot to mention the negatives. 😂😅😂 Hahaha
I did!
These cards sound like a no brainer, they have a great pedigree, look great are inexpensive, minimum memory work needed, mega routines /tutorials and can be used for magic or mentalism... Thanks for the heads up David. Also the backs look almost like the Runes...or not if you don't mention it.
Yes they do
Danke sehr für die Review. Der Trick ist echt klasse aber leider für das deutsche Publikum nicht so toll umzusetzen. Schade
Ja. Heutzutage werden die meisten Zaubertricks auf Englisch gemacht
Maybe not all of them but enough of the effects to get your money worth. Moreover most inspirational posters even in Germany are in English, and you can moreover use it as a feature in conversational settings. I will take out maybe two words which maybe a bit difficult but the pictures also explain a lot about the emotion (or you can use it as a “test” how your spectator feels about the picture and comparing it to the actual emotion written on the card). Watch Peter Turners teaching on the “Wunder”-Karte. To “evoke” such a reaction in the spectator you just need to f… that card - and can be assured that your performance is never forgotten in this spectator’s life. As close to real magic as it gets…
I ordered this as soon as it went on sale and have also carried it around with me. I watched the first video and am most of the way through the stuff with Peter Turner, but have not had time in my schedule to get to the rest. Craig keeps saying he will get to what to do with a shuffled deck, “later,” but doesn’t, (or hasn’t yet), say exactly where and I’ve not had an opportunity to really dive in or skip ahead and find out. And Peter Turner is a fantastic mentalist, but for me, personally, I find his teaching, (on every single thing I have with him on it and I have quite a few), lacking. I don’t know why, and I know I’m going to be insulted and attacked for daring to say this on the interwebs, but I learn very little or gain very little inspiration when he’s ‘teaching’ on a project. He rarely has closeup shots and seems to me to have a tendency to assume the viewer fully absorbs or already knows whatever it is he’s breezed right by. But that just me. His mentalism is fun to watch, but his teaching style and my learning style just don’t seem to sync up.
…Anyhow, being short on time, I have had to pause my journey through the Evoke material because I was going in order. Thank you so much for suggesting to watch the first one, (always important), and then skipping to the fifth one. Also, thank you for identifying which one the information regarding a shuffled deck is in. This review isn’t just a review, it’s almost akin to a ‘quick start guide’! Excellent!
Great product. Great review. Side note: I personally would have loved to see what Lewis Le Val would do with this deck!
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY !!!!
