I strongly dislike a lot of Nickelback but I think this song is kinda awesome. It has those Pantera vibes going on with those grooves and the drop tuning.
em199 matt This says quite a bit, and speaks to something quite uncomfortable to openly say despite many people likely having in many instances felt the same. He’s talking about the urges of craving vengeance. Whether it be right or wrong to speak up on isn’t discussed here, this Chad dude Is just saying what a lot of his band who also may have known Dimebag, fans, and family were thinking, pure anger and malice against someone who took someone away from them they cherished. This isn’t obviously a moralistic song of what to do and what not to do. And yes, it’s really dark, especially for a band that’s mostly alternative pop-rock, and made the constant focus of jokes about how “soft” and basic they are, but a lot of people who have known anyone taken through violence, especially gun violence likely has had these same thoughts to some degree, that’s a given.
Say whatever you want about Nickelback, whether it be they aren't hard rock enough or too mainstream. These guys rock and this song w/Dime's solo are the signs of true respect and for that reason they are worthy of mine.
Remember this performance every time you hear someone diss Nickelback. Then think about what a total tool that person must be. This represented everything good and pure about rock music.
The first tribute I know where Dime appears "playing" the Solo. Great idea, great tribute, great man. Thanks Nickleback for this one. Rest in Peace Dime!
Why do people dick on Nickelback. At least they still support and back Dimebag Darrell and have several songs recorded with him. Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting was a cover done with Dime & Kid Rock. People need to stop dissin' on Nickelback!
i never knew this song was dedicated to dimebag and its great that nicelback wrote the song for dimebag, it kills me every day that dimebag is gone and is not still with us making albums and shredding guitar. RIP Dime
That night will remain in my mind forever! A friend of my kids came by to see if they wanted to go see this concert. My son had to work and my daughter had friends over hanging out. Crystal was standing less than 5 feet away from Dimebag when he was shot! Sad night in the history of the Alrosa villa 😢. The club is no longer there.
No matter what people say about nickelback they wrote a badass song in tribute to a true rock legend and they play it with class. You gotta respect that.
F***ng awesome. I really love the fact thet they just handle the riffs and let the man play his solo. I bet, he'd call it "solo from hell" although he probably plays it in metal heaven. Great song, great riff, great way to pay respect to the greatest guitar player ever to have walked the earth.
Saw this tour live and this sounded awesome! Great tribute to Dimebag, even though 80% of the audience did not who Dimebag is, Nickelback helped a few.
This is such an old video and song in 2019 but you know what? This metalhead still misses dimebag and as much hate as nickleback gets they did good by him. Now the brothers are together jammin out in heaven again like they should have been all these years. God why do you take the good ones and leave us garbage? Rock in Paradise brothers
jklatman I'm not a huge fan of Nickleback by any means, but I am a huge fan of Pantera (especially Dimebag and his brother Vinnie). Nickleback got permission from Vinnie Paul to use Dime's solo on the song ("Side of a Bullet"). In my opinion, it's Nickleback's way of honoring Dimebag, and showing everyone out there who listens to music, that Dime isn't dead. His music lives on. Personally, I think it's very imaginative on Nickleback's part to incorporate Dime's solo into the song ("Side of a Bullet"). Lets face it...Know one can play a guitar solo like Dimebag. RIP Darrell Abbott
And countless guitarists that can solo better than him are eating beans and franks right now. It's not necessarily how great you pluck the strings, but your persona and the total package.
Just heard this song by chance in the mrs car this morning . Blew my mind never heard it before but bloody love it . Being a big pantera fan miss them days ...
Nickleback haters hate this song because they don't understand the real meaning of music. Keep rocking Nickleback! Much Respect For Dimebag Darrell Your Soul may Rest In Peace
I guess why everyone hates Nickelback lies within the fact that they're music is not generally heavy and they think it is. Also the singer's arrogant. But they've had some really nice songs over the years and the singer's voice is sick. Have you heard the cover of sad but true? Sick vocals man. Here as well.
Rip dime man ! Nickelback props still for doin this badass song for that ol boy and his family ,fans etc . Anyone down with pan fucking tera is a friend of mine
@JaviVS Money....it runs the world. They have figured out how to make good songs that draw even more money than the typical good song that goes unnoticed.....It doesn't matter who they are a fan of, they are running a business and doing a good job of it.
WHOA, I was told these guy's were TALKING SHIT, and disliked Darrel, and said he deserved to die. These guy's just re-gained my respect. I once loved these guy's, then I was told a lie about what they said, and now....I love them again :)
God this is awesome. I never understood why people don't like them. You get some good hard slaying guitar songs with greatly hummable modern rock songs
I'm a Nickelback back fan now I like a few of there songs but damn what balls to do this song. I didn't like them before because I thought they were sellouts nd and didn't care about the music
@JaviVS I do agree you always hear on the radio if everyone cared, this afternoon etc. but the songs I really love are side of a bullet never again, too bad, fly,
Even if you don't like nickelback, you gotta admit.... This song kicks ass.
I strongly dislike a lot of Nickelback but I think this song is kinda awesome. It has those Pantera vibes going on with those grooves and the drop tuning.

If such big amount of people considers Linkin Park to be a Rock band, I think Nickelback falls under that genre as well.
I agree, and personally think Nickelback is more rock than Linkin Park.

Well said!!!

Dimebag actually played the solo himself. The track was sent to Nickelback to put on the track by his brother Vinnie Paul.
Watch mojo placed this legend on number 1 for top 10 artist who died while performing...he will be missed. R.I.P
No doubt about it,dime will always be#1.. and forever missed...
Rest in peace brother dime
Damn great tribute to the king of Metal Guitar. You guys should have been a METAL BAND. Nasty tone in this song!!
The first tribute I know where Dime appears "playing" the Solo. Great idea, great tribute, great man.
Thanks Nickleback for this one. Rest in Peace Dime!
This gives me chills
Nickelback has some pretty kickass guitar tone.

just cos they did a couple good songs ages ago and hung out with Dime doesn't save them if you ask me
Anthony Johnson they still suck

It's good that a teeny pop singer at least enlightened a few of his fans about one of the best Metal shredders out there.
