Australia gets so much cool stuff. They have koalas, kangaroos, a WRX hatch and now they are getting a WRX with a STI wing from the factory!

STI produced 4 different wings for the VB. The one we all know as the traditional STI wing is offered as an unpainted version. You can import it from Japan. It comes with torsion bars to replace the stock ones to support the weight of the wing.
It is a one piece wing. And like all STI aero parts, it is actually tested by the engineers at STI.
Here is the part number 96061VC010NN.
Not sure if Subaru of America will ever offer these parts. They are behind on offering a lot of the STI parts that are available in the Japanese market for the VB.

The wing is available as a paint matched part from subaru and also includes the springs to help with opening the boot as it will be heavier with the wing.

Taken delivery of no.140 this week. I think the specs are nearly the same, except we Aussies get the wing instead of the HD sound system. I was on the wait list, i think someone cancelled and so i got their wr blue. It's been a long 2+ month wait, been watching your vids over and over again to stay sane. Thank You.

One thing that separates us Aussies from USA WRX owners is we don’t care if you run a wing. I do. My wing is unlike anything out there & was the first in Australia other than the prototype. I think we are of the firm belief that we do it our way & there’s no right or wrong & tend not to critise each other for the most part. 🇦🇺
That's such a beautiful thing to hear. In the US it's always about hating what others do. Constantly people get torn down in the car community. I understand sometimes there is a clown car that deserves it but it's EVERYTHING. Stickers, wings, wheels, nothing is safe. Maybe I need to relocate to AU. My cousin lives there and he's been telling me to move. Maybe.....🤣

Im waiting... checked the TR out and it makes sense. I honestly think STi is brewing something up in Japan and going to keep my hopes up. Im ready to buy the TR but somehow, even if the STi doesnt get a revival, later model with STi gearbox, rear diff and DCCD would be a run to the dealership car for me.
There won't be a new STI until at least 2026. Even then I wouldn't keep hopes up to see a similar car to the outgoing VA STi.
@HeavyMetalWRX at least on VA generation, there were ton of special models were made for the STi, I sincerely doubt that Subaru won't cash out on the VB generation with more trim levels and special editions. Hopefully, somewhere within there, there may be a closure. The new TR proved that to me even though I hated it initially.
I’ve known people who have put the after market wing on there 2022 vb and apparently it whistles to an annoying level
Is there any differences in this factory wing vs the afd and other aftermarket wings besides it being one piece? It looks the same to me
I imagine the paint match is going to be 100% unlike be does which is usually 90-95%. Plus the quality and fitment will be 100%.
The only reason Subaru doesnt put wings on US WRX is because Americans have a weird obsession with it Aus and Japan have had it before on WRX

@@HeavyMetalWRX sadly I don’t have the base trunk, and I don’t want to have a wing paired with the spoiler. Might have to find a base used trunk one day from a part out.

The vb wrx looks bald without a wing imo. If I get one someday im definitely putting a wing on it
I like the wing. I hope that we can buy it body color from Subaru. Downside is... as always.. the silly low rise trim piece when we really want the trunk without those trunk holes.

Not sure about other states but in NSW (Aus) we still don't have local pricing on MY24's. Subaru aren't telling us anything. We don't even know what the spec changes are for the rest of the lineup.
What is interesting is local articles hint at more than one special edition being released in the future.
The thing is, we don’t get anything special like other counties. Except the S209.
I like the swan neck wing from noble. It’s the only wing I like on these cars. The STI wing just makes me cringe
Not a fan of any big wing. Hopefully, it will be an option for people who want/like it.
You could ask them to remove it if you get a TR.
I have a ‘23 VB already.
I just cant with those wheels. Some of the past STi came with really nics wheels and others are meh. These are not at all attractive to me and look like they weigh a ton. The wing isnt for me but i have no issue with it.
Tbh I also have a huge issue with these wheels. If they are forged and lightweight I'll forgive them. They are still 19inch so idk how much lighter they would be.
Not to mention how big of a PITA it’ll be to clean them lol
@@PsunnProductions yo that's the real reason I hate these wheels I have the cosmos racing XT206R and I already don't like them solely because of how much of a pain it is to clean them. To be fair they are also white so I'm playing on hard right now 😭😭
The reason a lot of people laugh at the wing is due to lack of authenticity. When, ever, is one going to provide a genuine function? It's mimicking a thing that has function only on high-performance race cars. In other words, it's fake tat.
Yea but it was t doing much on the STI either. It's not like that car was an u er high performance vehicle. 🤷♂️

The STI is not faster than the new VB. Stock for stock anyway lol.
I mean true, but the plastic wing mounted with a couple of screws wasn’t doing much on the STI either lol if you want a functional wing you need a stout one that can handle real down force. I just like the way the plastic wing looks on these new VB models even tho I know it adds absolutely zero functionality whatsoever on any car it gets mounted on.
@@AustinBezetfaster? Any car can be made fast. A Honda civic can be made fast. A wrx has nothing in a Sti. It doesn’t have the suspension, the brakes, the transmission, the diff, the drive modes, if anyone thinks the wrx is comparable to an Sti because of power is coping. I get it though but it’s still a wrx, anything you can do to a wrx you could do to an Sti. The Sti is a far superior car. It’s just wrx cope.

Haha dude I have only ever smoked twice in my life. I have eye conditions that medicinal marijuana can not solve 😂. I have phlyctenular karaconjunctivitus. I take eye drops every 6 months. I'm out of my dosage so my eyes are all jacked up. Doesn't help when trying to race 😂
Australians get everything from Subaru. Wings….hatchback
