MusicWorks - Grade 5
Commissioned by the 2004 Jefferson County Honor Band, Denver, CO, and drawing musical inspiration from the awe-inspiring surrounding mountain peaks, this major work from Richard Saucedo explores a wealth of colors and emotions possible with today's wind orchestra. At times sensitive and delicate with soloistic passages, and alternately incessantly rhythmic and powerful, this composition displays complete command of the idiom and a creative sense of harmony and form. The scoring includes an important part for piano as well as expanded parts for mallet percussion.

One of my favorite pieces I ever performed! Alto 1 senior year. Such a fun and challenging piece for literally every instrument.
Finally! Played this one last year, 2nd trombone:)
Trombone!! I played this as well 2nd trombone
same here 🙋🏻♀️ except i played this 2 years ago my freshman year 🥲
I played this on flute 1 my senior year. I pray for any soul doing this song 😂
Such a lovely piece! My favorite part has to be that 5/4 part towards the ending, it's got lots of stuff going on during it (starts at around 4:34) There's even a waltz-like melody in that 5/4 time signature! :)
