ummm...a lamppost...yeah...
Imagine if he had a real weapon
@@TheJakedasnake88 that’s the point though. He is so skilled in combat that he uses a lamp post.
@@fadeddragon123 r/woooosh
@@fadeddragon123 that's an outdated lore. That's actually not the case anymore in the current lore. Now his lamp is one of the only weapons the Void is afraid of. After the fall of Icathia Jax went back from the border to Shurima to the destroyed capitol of Icathia and had to deal with the Void Corruption and survivors guilt there. In the middle of all the corruption he found the lantern. It is an old relict he had seen before in the Treasure Chambers of the Icathian palace. While the entire city of Icathia was corrupted by the Void, those spots the light of the lantern reached were not. The Void literally couldn't get close to that Lantern. Jax picked up the lamp and, since he found no survivors, made his way out of Icathia, in his hands the so called "Last light of Icathia".

19:15 - She used one of her abilities, Charm, to lure the two guys away from her friend, because she doesn't want them to find out she's still alive and finish her off.
Also, the part at the end, with the 9 tails and the 3 orbs, is her ultimate ability. She does up to three dashes, each of which sends a ball of energy at a nearby enemy for damage, which is depicted exactly in the video.
I don’t play League but what is that characters name? (The Kitsune girl)
@@phonixclaws7199 ahri
@@phonixclaws7199 Ahri
She was designed based on the Nine-Tailed Fox from mythology (Japan and Korea both have their own version of it)
Yeah, Nine-tailed fox, or Gumiho. Her ability Charm is in Japanese and Korean legends of Gumiho too.
You can actually see this ability in "Pop Stars" video. She uses it when she appears 2nd time, just after showing her 9 tails. She throws a heart onto the camera (which is constantly moving away). The camera stops and for a second is actually dragged towards Ahri. This is how it works. When you're charmed, you lose control over movement and have to follow her for a few seconds.
The lore of this game is really huge, I recommend reading some of Runeterra's history
It's also been changed significantly since this old trailer. And continues to change so its good to get caught up. But also to not be confused about old lore.
Fiddlesticks: Terror in Demacia
Still waiting for him to watch this one ;__;
As We Fall | Varus Music Video is good as well, I think since they are short, those two together could be fine for 1 video
This. We need him to watch it.
"What kind of weapon is that?". That's not even a real weapon, imagine him wielding a real one
0-0
jajajaja i catched that one
That's illegal
This is still her current design. She has many skins, KDA is one of them.
Well IIRC it's sort of her current design as in it's not quite that, with the dress(?) part being a bit longer and the shoulder area not quite as exposed and wide, the CGI/lore design at least the in-game model is still more or less this. Still the black haired version is the "true" Ahri with KDA being a themed skin.
I prefer Ahri design in the Ruined King game better, it shows her feral side more than her seductress side
"I went to the jungle, I died.
I went close the enemy tower, I died.
Welcome to the community xD
"I heard a roar from off screen . . . I died" (Rengar)
One of Ahri's abilities is that she can charm her opponents. Meaning that she can telepathically force people to follow her. So that's what she did there in the scene where the saturation faded. She saved Leona(yellow gal with the shield) by charming the two guys to herself so that they wouldn't actually kill Leona.
5:55 Yeah... Jax The Master Of Arms..... uses a lamppost
And in game says "Now imagine if I had a real weapon."
Also, Graves (guy with the shotgun) has a shell with "End of the line" scratched into it which is the one that he used in the clip, I was hoping you'd notice it in the analysis section but alas...
Apocalypse
Hi, please react to the RIOT "breathe - legends of runeterra" cinematic, you wont be disapointed fight wise and film techniques wise! It is insane! LoR is another game from riot in the same world as LoL
21:10 look at that transition from Rengar clawing away at Draven to Graves shooting at Katarina. It's so subtle, but it keeps you from realizing they need to show 4 different fights at the same time.
Forget about KDA and Ahri, you should check Pentakill’s Mortal reminder
KDA girls are Pentakill fans according to lore
plus then he gets to see morderkaisers amazing appearance in that video
"What kind of weapon is that?" My dude that there is a LAMP POST. The champions name is jax.
The art style of these cinematics definitely evolved over the years. And some champions got visual upgrades as well, like Ahri.
A nice touch is at 4:50 where you can tell that Ahri used her charm ability on Darius (guy with the giant axe) but not Draven (the other guy who actually happens to be his brother in lore). You can tell because if you look closely Darius is the one who gets angry and runs after Ahri while Draven just glances at him for a second before just following his lead, assuming that Darius had landed a killing blow on Leona (lady in golden armor) and that he was moving on to his next target
Every scene with Leona (sword/shield woman) is my fav from this, because everything from how she goes through the tree (opposed to over or under), takes the axe for Ahri and comes back to fight even though she's hurt, it all embodies the "fantasy" of playing Leona, I think. It's so well done.
Chris, I must say I really appreciate you for analysing every single shot and commenting all the cinematographic decisions! This is really helpful for aspiring artists!!! Big thumbs up !
Well, I just found this channel, but hot dang, I love your channel already. Your so charismatic, I love it! Cant wait to see you grow even more!
My favorite scene is Rengar (lion assassin) being knocked out by 2 bare fist hits. While others needed their whole body destroyed to be taken down.
Yay, a new video! Really lit up to be in the early squad as well!
Literally watching this before I go to bed, I love you Chris Connor!!!! 💖💖💖
8:17 i screamed when you said that-
A new video from Connor is an honor, I'm glad to be here so early.
Hey i ve been watching these kind of videos from you since the beginning and helped me understand a lot about camera placement thx for it and also i would like to add something to your evergrowing blacklist and its Light and shadow
The red-haired woman is Katarina. She's a magic-assassin type of character. Her signature weapons are "daggers" but they are pretty much the same size as swords. The biggest thing about her though is her "Shunpo" which is an instant teleport/dash
Ive been waiting for you to react to this
0:31
Welcome. Now, there's no way out, but you'll love it
One of the things that makes this cinematic my favorite of all league ones is that it uses ambience for its story instead of just playing a song. It feels like a movie instead of a music video.
Let's gooo this is my favourite league cinematic ❤️❤️
i started to study film direction, u help me a lot
5:53 its not even a weapon.. imagine if he had a real weapon :D
My blade is yours
It actually is a weapon. He got a lore update for his lamp. Now his lamp is one of the only weapons the Void is afraid of. After the fall of Icathia Jax went back from the border to Shurima to the destroyed capitol of Icathia and had to deal with the Void Corruption and survivors guilt there. In the middle of all the corruption he found the lantern. It is an old relict he had seen before in the Treasure Champers of the Icathian palace.
I love how he doesn't just watch the cinematic but actually analyses it in great detail
I love how for once Nautilus is actually to scale. That being said, Riot logically I should be able to knock down a turret it like 3 hits with Naut.
This was what got me amazed with Cinematics
Pls i beg you on my knees react to league of legends light and shadow :DDD its soooooooooo good and smooth.
nice bro, i requested this video on insta :)
Ayy I'm so glad you picked up the game! I wonder which characters you played in the jungle :D
I never saw anyone to get in the mood like that except me, im happy to see that im.not the only crazy one here😂, keep on dude
I recommend Necrit for some videos on the league lore. He's dedicated and puts it all together very well.
Also, the weapon is, uh, a lantern. One of that characters voice lines is "Imagine if I had a Real weapon"
19:04 Ahri charmed(in game skill) the enemies to lure them away from her ally or else they finished her off.
RWBY - Red Trailer please. If you really like cool fighting scenes.
React to Star Guardian A New Horizon and Light And Shadow, there's more Ahri there
YES IT'S HERE!
Awesome reaction 🔥🔥🔥
Ahhhhh this brings back memories
This is Sick !!!!
5:54 and that is a metal Chinese street lamp, Jax doesn't wield any real weapon, he wants to give his enemy a chance 💁🏻♂️
in the lore the manatee that started the arena thing that is league put in rules to balance things and basically told Jax he had to use a lamp, and after his death he's pretty much the only one who still follows his rules
imagine if i have a real weapon
@@clamroidthevoid3130 Its old lore.
In new one its last fire staff of Icathia.
Still not real melee weapon
@@morelstrike haha really, still looks like a lamp post
@@clamroidthevoid3130 Cause riot has a snail pace when it comes to updating their champions in game.
Heck, to this day friendly robot (Blitzcrank) and helpful inventor (Viktor) have 180 quotes in comparison to their personality.
The cinematic that got me into the game
The character design of Ahri (gumiho) in this video is what she actually looks like in the canon lore universe. The model design in the KDA music videos is part of an alternate lore universe where she is portrayed as a popstar. So crazy, she has gazillions of skins in-game with their own respective alternate universes.
Anyway, always enjoyed watching your reactions! Cheers!
probably the most funniest part of this video is when he saw jax weapon hahah "WHAT IS THAT WEAPON???" legit laugh
I dunno if it's what you're thinking of at 26:28, but Sun Tzu had a term for when you have the enemy on one side and a cliff on the other: Death ground.
It's the one situation where you never engage, because if people are engaged in a fight in which they know there's no escape, they'll fight more viciously (and obediently) than in any other situation. (I'm pretty sure The Art of War explicitly says the only way to intelligently engage an army that's on death ground is to let them know they're boned and wait for them to give up.)
Could you consider reacting to League of Legends "giants" sometime in the future? that video is just gorgeous 2D animation, and a pretty damn good song.
What I like about LOL's cinematics are they have little to no dialogue, but you can still understand and connect to the characters through their expressions
The Frozen cinamatic has so much communication without saying a single word.
one of my fav league of legends cinematic
Oh god i LOVE your reactions to these. I had the same reaction when Leona saved Ahri at the end. I was yelling “YES YES SHE ALIVE!!” Keep these reactions going! Also that Bleach reference you said 🤣. Also at 19:00 Ahri used her "Charm" Ability on them both. In the game it can only hit one person, but here they made it so she effects everyone she choices thus saving Leona. I loved that scene cause so many didn't pick up on it when it released back then, but you with the 200 iq got it instantly.
Firstly what Ahri did - her I would say core spell is named Charm - she charms you, she makes you fall in love with her and run towards her so she can hit you. She made this to distract them so she could get some time to run. And another Ahri's spell was shown while fighting the the "flower character", she throw a kind of an orb forwards, and then it comes back to her (this spell is normally blue, but when Ahri hits some amount of spells, she sometimes throws green one and that heals her). Secondly about the "pirate chick", this is Katarina and she is assassin, so she is jumping a lot and is pretty fast. She is not the pirate chick, it's Miss Fortune, that also has kind of red hair, but she is more like pirate hunter.
23:35 To add to the music choices some of the tracks you heard were actually linked to those specific champions like for instance Rengar (knife kitty) and Katarina (red hair daggers) fight scene was using his champion theme song and same for when Nautilus (the giant armor thing) came in was also his champion theme
Love your reaction! How about reacting to Tales of Vesperia : Desperation next?
My Favourite moment in that Cinematic is just Nautilus appearing and doing some damage. Thats the big metal guy
SICK
ive always loved his breakdowns, i really hope he does legends of runeterra breathe one soon....
I have to say I always love how he reacts and how he tries to break it down.... also try viewing the Tales of Runeterra, there are a couple of videos might be interresting....
Ahri's third skilll in-game is a charming spell
she throws an heart and if she hit an enemy, he's forced to follow her for a while
the fact that her eyes turn purple with the little pink mist around her is the representation of her, charming draven (the bored gladiator from Awaken on the right) and Darius (Noxus Army Commander and main executionner, Draven's brother)
This cinematic reflects characters' personality really well. For example Draven(you know him from awaken, arena) is an executioner and doing his work for show. He thinks he is super cool and he loves himself a lot. In this cinematic he pushed Zyra (plant girl) and wanted to execute ahri himself. Also when Rengar is on him he still showed that he is not afraid.
And Graves(the guy with shotgun) saw a lot and almost nothing surprises him. You can see that when Rengar is done with Draven he just looked and did like "OK. This is usual." When he blows up that rock with a bullet you can see "end of line" on that bullet so he is ready for everything. And there are more like this. And please please react to "breathe-legends of runeterra" you won't be disappointed.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, greetings from Poland =)
I recently come across your channel and loved your reaction videos with all analysis part of those. After watching most of them a thought crossed my mind - you checked Warcraft cinematics, Starcraft, Diablo and even Overwatch, but do you have plans on doing crossover universum - Heroes of the Storm? The game is on its downfall, heck - it wasn't at all that popular as those originals (and it's visible in quality of that clips), but still has cool cinematics to watch. They are mostly not that detailed, but some have cool style beyond classic reveal trailer, like comic-like 'Call of Kel-Thuzad', anime 'MechaStorm' or something similar to LoL cinematics (for me at least) found as 'Heir of Raven Court'.
I'd be really happy to see what you think of them, but still - great content and keep it up.
"That wepon" is a lamp
Ahh the old cinematics. The memories
Great work as always mate. As is my priority now, I have to keep recommending you to watch the Final Fantasy XIV cinematic trailers, as they are breathtaking every time I see them.
FINALLY
Chris! If you see the WoW - Mists of Pandaria cinematic, it has an """after credit""" too, it called "Bottoms Up". Short less than a minute, but you will enjoy it with the Pandaria cinametic
Chris, the guy with the shotgun is named Graves, the guy that looked like an old dive suit and the anchor, is Nautilus, the lion human shaped is Rengar, the girl with the shield and gold suit is Leona, and the guy that always looks angry is Darius, Ah, and the one that you ask ''what kind of weapon is that'' well, his name is jax and he uses a lamppost as weapon. Ah, yeah, the girl with red hair is Katarina, and the vine woman is named Zyra
This cinematic made me fall in love with league of legends
1 - Ahri
2 - armored girl - Leona
3 - Red hair assassin girl - Katarina
4 - Armored guy - Darius
5 - twin blade - Draven
6 - Flower girl - Zayra
7 - men with shotgun - Graves
8 - Jax
9 - Big metal guy - Nautilus
10 - lion - Rengar
This cinematic was amazing
4:47 is one of her in-game skill - Charm
For real, I thought it was ghost😂
@@Adam-ku9hy ahahahahaha, gotta go fast
5:52 i laughed so much at "what kind of weapon is that?". Well its a god damn lamppost my dude, yep, lamppost you heard right
Yeah Finally
so Katarina is the one you thought was maybe the pirate chick, who is actually Miss Fortune.
Nautilus is the big guy with the anchor. Fun fact - each champion got their own sort of signature sounds, so as each one is on screen, certain instruments are used. they couldn't get one they liked for Nautilus, so they actually recorded the sounds in the water, which causes the reverberating sounds.
Jax isn't allowed to use a real weapon canonically because he's too good at fighting, so he gets a weird staff-like thing
The ball Ahri uses that she tosses and then it comes back is her Q. On the way out it deals magic damage and on the way back it deals true damage (damage which is not affected by things like armor), it's her signature ability. The pink mist you saw that desaturated the image when she was fighting those 2 guys is her E, which is a charm ability that makes the enemy hit walk towards her for a short time, it can be used to escape or to deal massive damage in conjunction with her Q. At the end when she jumps into the air you can see her R, which is her ultimate ability. She gets 3 dashes and when she uses these dashes she gets 3 "spirit orb" kinds of things that strike nearby enemies. There are a TON of more references to the game itself within the cinematic but I thought I'd stay with ahri for now because that's who you're interested in mostly :)
When you asked what weapon the guy in the purple cloak uses, it's a lamppost. He's such a weapon master that when he started fighting in the league the masters restricted him to using the lamppost as a weapon. He easily won with that restriction so they took it away as ineffective but now he still just uses it as a personal challenge to himself.
Oh man finally. This is a old one :)
Cool Vid as always, just love that you are trying to get every Story 👌If want another lol recommendation: Lol the ruined king cinematic, the chars there are Ahri, Braum (the first big dude), ilaoi (tentacle woman lel), pyke (Pirate guy), Miss Fortune (Pirate Chick) and Yasuo.
Btw the red haired girl in New dawn was Katarina (dagger throwing assassin lady)
Ahri is my main and i love her, so i really love the ending when she destroys the guy in the end
hey bro, could the reaction of the league of legends wild rift trailer really got me.
5:56
Chris : what kind of weapon is that .
Jax: imagine if i have a real weapon.
Now after seeing your shirt, I think you might like seeing Star Wars The Old Republic cinematics
He truly is a man of culture
I'm not 100% sure myself but I assume the thing that Ahri did when her eyes turned pruple was using her ability 'Charm' which attracts the character that she hits with it, so I guess she used that to get Draven (Guy with the two throwing Blades) and Darius (Guy with the huge Axe) away from Leona (the Shieldgirl) and the attack Ahri used on Zyra (the Plantgirl) is her ability 'Orb of Deception' which she shoots forward and then it comes back to her dealing additional true dmg.
I would love to see you react to some of the halo cutscenes. Halo 2, “give the covenant back their bomb” is probably my favorite
5:54
Chris: "What kind of weapon is that?"
it's not a wapon, that's the point xd
Man, you REALLY need to react to True Damage's Giants music video. The camera placement and transition effects on that video are amazing
hey chris, i dont know have you heard already but there is new League of legends video available, its a lyric video bu its still dope AF ( like always from riot games) it is called Run It (all-stars 2020)
New LoL cinematic called Ruination, should definitely check it out !!!
Theres also tales of runeterra, the old ones aswell as the newest one with yordles
More tutorials and How to's! The filmmaker reacts are cool for sure, but dont forget about the subs who love your vfx tutorials!
So now I recommend just to play some league, learn who is who, what skills they have, how it's in game, and then you'll see these cinematics in absolutely new way
