    stay tuned is as foreign to young folks as clockwise, back when we had to stand up walk across the room to turn a knob that clicked and clunked to change the channel because Topo Gigio was going to be on the Ed Sullivan Show right after the dancing bears and poodles on a different channel. lol, I just made dirt feel young

    Hey i just took apart my 1000 series and i just wanted to say sometimes it wont feel clean until it has the weight of the spool back on to help the handle keep rotating. Wasted an hour easily trying to fix this lol. Also i would remove whatever grease they put on was green like saltwater corrosion and sandy feeling from the factory. The Ozark trail grease and oil kit has been working wonders to revive smoothness in my reels.

    These are nice and like other Shimano
    products they are well engineered and
    a good value. I have the same size in

    I really like this reel. You made a great deal for a Shimano with 3 bearings. I don’t know about the rod but I imagine it is still useable. I sent you an e-mail on that strange Ryobi reel I just got. I have never seen a reel where the drag controls the entire rotor/spool assembly. It’s definitely a reel for my collection. The reel is a Ryobi 300. Enjoyed learning about a Shimano Sienna. -- Chris

      @@fabiorossi724 Hi Fabio! Good to hear from you. Oddly enough, I just got a new ultralight Shimano Sienna reel in a box of 5 ultralight reels I got for $11.50. I rarely if ever use an ultralight reel but I got these on eBay just to have a few reels to work on. I did not expect a reel of that quality in the box. Hi Dennis. You are one of the best, if not the best at these kind of videos, so thanks for that. Question, on this reel there’s a little plastic ring the pinion sits on how is it supposed to sit in its spot? Didn’t know it was there and it came out when I pushed the pinion out, so I didn’t see how it set in there. Thanks!

    • @2ndChanceTackle

      Try something as simple as spraying a penetrating oil on and behind both bail arms. Sometimes the mechanism gets stuck because of dirt and the spray helps to dissolve the gunk

    as i was copying what you did , i found i had one more piece than you had behind the brass shaft. The end of the brass shaft rides in it like it was a bushing with a flat piece on the bottom. I believe it moves the spool in and out as you rewind the spool. is that part of the housing that this piece rides in and its broken out

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  Před 2 lety

      It is possible that it is a broken piece. Best to check the reel schematic to see if the part is listed there. If it does not have a separate part number, then it has likely broken off of the housing - Here is a link to one of the schematics. I am not sure if it is the same model that you have www.mikesreelrepair.com/content/schematics/Shimano_Sienna_SN2500FD_Schematic.pdf. Dennis

    Hi, I have the same Shimano Sienna 2500 that you serviced in the video. I missed up the bearing for the anti-reverse because I accidentally removed the tiny screw that holds the anti-reverse house. And now the anti-reverse mechanism does not work as how it was before. Sometimes it works sometimes it does not .

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  Před rokem

    I have two questions i have this excate combo set first question is when reeling if I stop/pause then when start to reel again seems like the it's alittle stiff but more so feels like the crank handle stops at a point just shy of a starting point (Kinda like when pedaling a bike and the pedal stopping where it's between a good spot meaning like it's between forward and rear motion could to much grease be the cause this reel is fairly new and I take care of my stuff so hasn't be abused however I did disassemble it right out the box didn't seem to start happening til after it had been used a few times ? 2nd question where is the best place to get a new handle for this reel

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  Před rokem

      I don't think it is too much grease. You may want to check where the spool is when this is happening. It could be that the spool is bottoming out at its lowest point. That would cause what you are describing. That gets fixed by adding a shim washer. To check, remove the spool and see if the same issue occurs.
      You can contact Shimano directly for parts.Follow this link for service information fishshop.shimano.com/pages/reel-support-services If it is no longer available, check eBay sellers for a replacement.

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  Před rokem

      I don't know the definition of Lumpy, but my guess is that it needs a good cleaning. Chances are it it dirt or dried grease that is causing the uneven operation and not the bearings

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  Před 5 měsíci +1

      That issue would involve the roller clutch for the A/R - you need to take the reel apart and make sure it is installed correctly. make sure the inner clutch sleeve is contacting the bearings. You may have the sleeve upside down if it is the two step sleeve coon in some of the reels - Dennis

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  Před měsícem

      If the A/R over-ride lever and shaft are as they should be, then the issue will be in your A/R clutch. It would either be too much oil an grease that would be causing the slip, or. broken piece - Dennis
