"Cultural appropriation" is as the Brits would say a "load of rubbish". As a person of Indian origin who has been exposed to all sorts of cultures, having lived in many countries on several continents I have had been able to meld in and accept all sorts of cultures. There is a lot to appreciate in all cultures. There is also a lot of diversity even within cultures. Accept it, appreciate it and enjoy it.

Sanskrit sounds for the untrained western ear should be treated as āsana practice for the tongue. Teacher student should sit a lot lot closer. And teacher should also be fully adept at enunciation. As adept as the lady in these Gaiea videos who is perfect.
Not being parochial here, just practical. In as much as western ballet trained are so adept at yogaāsana that inspires stiff indian mortals, so too this.

Biggest mistake of intellect is to believe The Self as me or mine, The Self referred in ancient wisdom is not the Soul or Ego or individual spirit, But the Supreme Self itself residing and overwhelming all physical around. Meaning that it is all Supreme Self that exists, and nothing else separate from that exists. When intellect start attributing the things as separate from the Supreme Self, all troubles start from that conjecture.
