    Pattu Sir, when I watched this video, the only thought that came to my mind is that your video content/teachings (whatever we may refer to as) should be made compulsory subject during school. This would solve a lot of financial problems in my humble opinion. You should publish a book covering all these subjects (Sorry, if you have already done it, if so please let me know the name of the book, I would like to get one for myself and for my 8 yr old kid)

    Ideally correct Sir. As you always says mindset is important. Most of the pension guarantee people don't save anything. They try to spend more than they earn, thinking anyway we get pension even if we have loans we can mange kind of mentality. And if one of their children under performing in life, it will be another disaster for pensioners, as they have to continue support the under performing son or daughter for the rest of the life. Best investment would be having a well behaved and well settled son, so that parents will have some surplus money. No parent wanted to see their child is suffering after grown up and under performing, when they have good saving or pension.

    Sir, I am always getting on to think how much one should be allocating on children education? This question is because I am seeing many parents borrowing and spending for education or spending everything they have left after needs to education. I get to know to save for college after seeing your channel and often confused with school fee as it varies literally from zero(govt and aided ones) to almost 2 lac. How should go on this? I studied in govt and aided school and govt college for UG. Am afraid of schools and colleges in Coimbatore where I am living now. Any suggestions or guidance from you will be helpful to plan for the present and future as my son is 2.5year old now. Thank you sir.

      I know what I am going to say is totally opposite to how we all Indians are brought up and what we believe in. But I am still going to say it as I strongly believe that is the truth.
      Whatever allocation it is for children education, it has to be after meeting our retirement allocation. Children education can be funded by education loan. But retirement needs cannot be funded by any other means. And for that reason - it is always wise to allocate funds for retirement before child's education. The last thing we need is to be dependent on our kids after our retirement - that will be bad for us and for the kids too.

    • @nathiyarengasamy8273
      @nathiyarengasamy8273 Před 4 lety +1

      @@InvestmentInsightsTamil your point is logical sir/madam. My father never thought about retirement and did his best for the 3 children on education to whatever he could afford(never loaned). It was a challenge to send us to school from that remote village while others got married their daughters or send them to work. I just need to pay back to my son. Nothing more of making my son to Foreign universities but I still need to know what a common man can think and convince. I will surely go for loan, if gets into great colleges or he is really living with his studies. I can't afford him to send for fame or mere exposure for that matter. Again views differ and I respect Pattu sir and requested him to share his views. Thank you.

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil Před 4 lety +1

      @@nathiyarengasamy8273 I totally understand what you are saying. My parents were like that as well. Almost all Indian parents are like that. We put our kids education before our own self - which is a great thing to do. Its just that it is not logical as you mentioned. As long as we know that it is not logical and we are making a decision knowing that it is emotional rather than logical, we are good.

    In modern society I feel long lifespan is a curse. Am seeing how many seniors are already struggling even with decent financial health - retire aagi 10 yrs kulla poidanum pola.. While we are able to take care of ourselves.

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil Před 4 lety +1

      That is a pessimistic view of our wonderful life we got. As Pattu sir has said here, all it needs is proper planning. If we have proper planning, we can enjoy our life till 100. You are seeing seniors struggling because of lack of financial planning. We should not make the same mistake.

    • @karthik448
      @karthik448 Před 4 lety +1

      @@InvestmentInsightsTamil The struggle I meant was not of the financial side Sir. They have more than enough wealth wise, but they are lonely, depressed and of ill health. They have time and money but no energy and need to depend on others help for everything. And the ones who end up helping most of the time are other seniors since their kids and grandkids are all pursuing their careers in far off places.

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil Před 4 lety +1

      @@karthik448 Ah, I misinterpreted - though you have clearly said "even with decent financial health". Thanks for clarifying. I understand what you are saying. But that will be the case in the future as well. But that does not mean we have no life outside of our family after retirement. There are plenty of things that we can do. We have to look at senior people who are accomplishing even after 80. There are plenty of examples including Warren Buffet. I like to see things optimistically. And of course invest in our health too along with financial investments. Whats the point of all the money we get from investments if there is no good health. 🙂
