I am a little leery of the notion of 'solving a problem'. it strikes me is being a mark of initial convergent thinking, instead of developing an 'appreciation' of the situation, in divergent terms. The situation may offer opportunities for positive interventions, rather than merely find an apparent problem and 'solve' it, equip a community to solve it. As part of appreciation, using a 'Thinking Tree' or a 'Rich Picture' we may be encouraged to find root causes, or root drivers of current circumstances that would reveal different opportunities for intervention than a strictly 'problem-solving' approach might present.
Nevertheless, a very helpful concise presentation.
