I wanted to add my two cents to some of the comments below. Aero-Swing is a wind resistant product, not meant to be a weight, although it has to weigh something. Matt was using his same method he has used for other swing speed products, use it for 10 minutes and measure the results. His results were incredible to see, although we have seen similar results with other folks who have used our product. The goal is to use Aero-Swing over time, and maintain a higher level of swing speed than what you had before you train with Aero-Swing. Some of you remember Jodie Mudd, winner of the 1990 Players Championship. Jodie has worked with me in fine tuning the training of Aero-Swing. Attached, you will see a video of him going from 96MPH to a sustained 103 MPH, and a max of 108MPH since using Aero-Swing. If you notice in the video, Jodie is hitting balls with Aero-Swing on his own driver. We want you to train this way too. Aero-Swing is a patented product that provides the maximum resistance at the point of ball impact. No tube sock or pool noodle can do this. The object is to train your swing speed while you are maintaining your original swing plain. You will notice that the loft of the ball flight is lower than normal when he strikes the ball, that is normal too, especially when you first start to train. Your hands will be far in front of the clubhead, simply caused by the drag of the aero-swing product. Once removed, a golfer will feel the speed, as evidenced by Matt going from his previous max of 110, to a new max of 117. Aero-Swing also makes a great warmup tool before each round. I use aero-swing 14 times while I am on the course, place on the shaft of driver (no extra tools involved), and practice swinging before each drive. Not legal to do on the pga tour, but ok for me and my hacker buddies; same as a footwedge! I know that there are a lot of golf purists on this thread, and I wish I had the skill some of you have. Thank you all again for your interest and your comments. I hope I answered some of the questions you may have had. Bill Orosz, Aero-Swing inventor. Jodies video: czcams.com/video/1fJcn-urqRw/video.html Thank you again Matt for reviewing Aero-Swing!
Before watching the video I was skeptical about the Aero-Swing but afterward I decided to try the it. I ordered them from the Brazilian River company because of their excellent return policy. I figured I couldn't lose. I'm a senior golfer who joined a club and started playing a less than five years ago. Last fall I hit drives on the Flightscope and averaged 208 carry. I've used the Aero-Swing 3-4 times a week for the last 6-8 weeks singing with two units on a spare driver virtually identical to my regular driver. I did both free swinging (about 80%) and actually hit balls (about 20%). Last week I was tested again on the Flightscope and I averaged 223 carry. I play a 9/9 hybrid course of mens/senior tees. I've had my longest drives (by a significant difference) on seven of the 13 par 4s and 5s on our course since I began. My iron play has similarly improved. My playing partners have noticed my distance improvement. I heartedly recommend at least trying the Aero-Swing.
Is it me, or their a lot of golf CZcamsrs looking to increase swing speed lately? Is this the Bryson effect?
In any case, I love it. Who doesn’t need more speed?
Thank you for sharing.
Nope golfers have been trying to do this for years. It’s just that finally there is more science behind it.
Every golfer over the age of newborn is trying to increase swing speed... Every guy over 40 who doesn’t have the swing speed of a 20 year old is looking to gain back those MPH’s they lost from Dad-Bod Effect
Hi, excellent video. Will look into this. Thanks.
Thanks for the review Matt!!!
I just bought this last week. Great timing.
Matt, congrats on the interview / lesson with Jim Hill! I was thrilled to see ya!
Good morning! Great videos!!
One of the biggest things I have learned from you Matt, is to NOT swing for the fences. 100 yard shot, take more club, 3/4 controlled swing, knock it on the green. Seeing you play within yourself, simple, "boring" golf ( fairways and greens) has really helped my game. I am going to stick with 240 off the tee, and a 3/4 swing, approach shot. When I am 175 yards out, thanks to YOU, I now think; " I got this."
Back in the early eighties I bought a air resistance stick with fan like propellers. It seemed awkward. But Matt what you are displaying seems more user friendly. Sometimes I share swing thoughts with my taxi passengers. Like after one hour of holes in one on the PGA Tour I noticed how the left leg straightens on the downswing. I feel a critically important movement if I want to keep my head steady over the ball. Be great be good and be lucky lol
I thought you snapped the shaft at 4:45😂😂
See where you made the local L.A. evening news with Jim Hill. Man, you got to put that on your site.
Does this translate to the next day or next tee shot? Is this a way of training fast twitch muscles? Have you ever used the speed swoosh? Thanks for the demo. I might give it a try.
Matt, do you have any data on two clubs were I can run a regression, to compare the distance of the two clubs? I have some data from my e6 profile but Im looking for more data to run in r studio for class.
jw. have a good one. Thanks for the videos
In regards to the zip ties (yes I know I’m being that guy right now) they actually do come with a release tab… it’s the tab in the middle of the square end, the more things you know right?
I'm more curious how these products work for more beginner golfers or people who aren't already at a higher end swing speed. I got out of golf for 15 years and only started up in August 2020. I went the rest of the season just playing 4H through wedges and got fit for a driver at the end of the season. Because I haven't hit a driver in 15 years, my current carry distance is like 210 yards. I'd love to just get to a 240 carry.
Did it transfer to actually hitting the ball. I’m considering a speed training system but I think they only help to strength muscles and flexibility. Once at the course speed drops.
What's the best swing training aid you've used?
What does it do with your ball striking?
Question is... how long does the effects last? Should you be training everyday, before a game to keep that speed and most of all how will impact tge irons
With any speed training no matter the sport it takes about 3 times a week.
Just buy pool noodle cut about 1.5-2' off and then cut lengthwise slit to allow it to be slipped onto the golf shaft. If you can find pool noodle with fins works even better. One noodle can make 2-3 swing resistance aids so you have enough to give one to couple of your golf buddy as well.
Your supposed to put the second rubber piece with zip tie at the top of the aero thing so it’s not moving back and forth
Start and stop the next video with a couple of drives using a ball to see if there is a usable increase in speed (trust of the Trackman / GCQuad a lot more). First glance does look impressive.
How would you compare it to the twitch trainer?
It feels completely different.
drive for show putt for dou.... wait nvm hit it 350 and putt mediocre 😂. great vid!
So now don't use it for a week and see how much speed you retain? Yes you can make speed gains which last maybe 45 minutes after doing a session. However what do you need to do in order to maintain even a 5mph gain permanently?
Ive been on a journey over the last 12 weeks. Went from 92.5 to 106.3 mph using a few speed trainers. Its legit
brilliant, Im looking to go from 85 to 100. What method was most effective ?
@@davepatrick5980 i have a series on my channel called douche to Dechambeau. Maps it all out. Combination of diet, working out, running, plus the superspeed sticks and the lightspeed by orange whip, and hitting about 500 balls weekly into my hitting net
@@theweekendhack subscribed and following with interest.
@@davepatrick5980 thanks man. If you put the work in, anyone can do it. Start with some speed trainers, slowly work into the rest.
You demonstrated perfectly how NOT to take & hold a giant breath in before swinging Matt 👍🏼
Love your videos Matt...bht The kids are inventing all kind of toys with their 3D printers and just sell X with pennies cost.
People just should stick with a trainer and train train train. That's all golf about
So there's swing speed and ball control. I'm trying to keep my ball in play and not having to drop after the drive. I can hit the dimples off the ball, but my success rate for ball in play is 5%. If I hit a nice comfortable drive, ball in play is much more like 95%. Go ahead with hit hard and fast club head speed, but Tiger will tell ya that back surgery really sux.
In play 95% of the time when tour average is around 60%. Yea ok.
@@jamesjackson4264 I believe the 60% is fairways hit. I'm saying "in play" meaning I found my ball and can play it.
Seems like a cool toy, but swinging fast without ball is much different than swinging and having to make solid contact
please be very careful. The over use of one direction of turning like that can cause back injury. Please also swing like a lefty so you can balance your rotations, and that will help with the strength aspect as well.
I do the lefty swings also that's a must
Just don't wanna see ya get hurt. Love all your videos! They help me stay Sain in this crazy world!
Hit balls intermittently while speed training, added speed is more harmful if you're not center facing the ball too
So if you use super oversize grips like Bryson, you can't get these on your clubs?
yes, that is true, they will not slip over the oversized grip. But, most folks who use oversize grips use another driver as a practice driver and remove the club head, then place the Aero-Swings on the club.
If you don’t have 3 backup drivers for this exact reason... do you even Golf, Bruh? Haha
Balance concerns?
Yes a little. You have to get used to swinging faster
Thank you sir. I am big fan of your work keep the videos coming 👍
I can't recall....does it matter that your PRGR was set to an 8I??
Noticed the same thing. Maybe that only matters when it estimates ball speed and carry/total yards?
@@garrettchristley7259 I'll try it the next time I'm on the range and let you know.
This product really seems to work, so I'm definitely not going to knock it. But I've done something similar by using a pool noodle.
I love the video but I don't think I could swing like that and stay in control ???? I have a hard enough time keeping it straight as it is lol
Do that again on your simulator, im seeing 350 yrd drives coming!!!
😲😲
You gain club head speed, but the balance you have through the swing will translate to miss hits and low smash factor. How would you propose gaining club head speed without losing smash factor? I feel the off center strikes will take away the benefit of swinging faster.
The idea is to get your max swing speed up and up and up, so in theory your on the course swing will increase as well. Notice he isn’t even hitting a ball....
Yes, he isn't hitting a ball, however, swinging like that would create some major issues with most people whose swings are not as solid as his. Creating speed while still staying on balance would be easier for most people and not hinder performance.
@@michaelmatejcik8779 if their swings aren’t solid then they already have issues. I have never saw a person use swing speed tools and get worse. It’s a myth. Now if you don’t practice of course it will get worse. With or without swing speed training.
@@michaelmatejcik8779 with any swing speed training you “practice” swinging faster so your balanced on-course golf swing increases as well.
@@clintsanderson6019 @james jackson, I am all for speed training. I would like to get back some speed I've lost over time, but just this weekend, Rory comes out and says speed training screwed up his swing. I would say that one of the best players in the world having problems shows that most amateur golfers could also if they don't use these devices within their natural swing.
Air resistance is squares with speed so you're not wrong..
Gotta get that ball speed up to 190mph!
Gimmicks galore
But the question then is, can you hit the ball straight and control your shots? You should have done the testing your swing speed while hitting a ball!
Coming soon, round cheese grater, link in the description below 🤣🤣
The issue with "resistance" type training aides is that they require a different neurological recruitment of the muscles required to perform a particular movement pattern. In other words, you are priming muscles that you won't be firing when you use just your regular club. Same for baseball players and "weighted" bats. No bueno! You will ALWAYS feel faster once the weight is removed, but it doesn't elicit the correct sequencing and firing of muscles you need to actually hit the ball better. Just sayin'!
Interesting point. What do you recommend for speed training? I tried the speed sticks and in my opinion "messed up" my swing.
Keep using this and you are going to have to change the name of your channel to emphasize your big drives.
MrLongGame
Back to Monday morning snake oil salesman, lol. Matt, for those of us regular golfers, just tie a tube sock on the club. Then you can add one or two as you build up to increase weight. I'll save the $60 and play 2 more rounds of golf.
I think. about 120 mph. maybe 125 mph.
No opposite side training- not good for speed training
But you don't swing like that on the course Matt. No body swing out of their shoes like that, not the single hdcp!
That doesn't look very controlled.
Slow and steady wins the race fast and furious has no place lol
Matt looks like the wiffle swing throws you off balance. Watch the back.
I wish you would have seen your swing speed before the training, not go off other times speed
It comes with an oxygen tank
Hey Matt, DID YOU KNOW you lost your hiccup at the top of your swing, you know when you cross the line and kick it with your hands, when you're going for speed. Bring that to the course. Provlem solved.
Lol. I'll give it a try
Yeah but you’re swinging out of your shoes with technique all over the shop. Hit a ball. I get it, you’re investigating their claim, but I want to see what you’re swinging with a ball. Thanks for testing these things.
I know it's just my opinion but it looks like another useless overpriced piece of junk. Just get a Medicus weighted club. Same principle but it looks more like a club and you can actually hit balls with it.. BTW, you're not actually going to swing that fast on the course. Junk
It’s overspeed training and Matt was comparing pre pine cone baseline (at 100%) to post. On course would be normal controlled swing x% faster than pre training. That’s the idea at least. Martin Borgmeier has YT videos doing the same type of training with his driver (no training aid, just club and no ball).
I Read a review online by a HS coach who stated he and his players saw gains after going through the recommended 6 week program. Plenty of commenters also reported back success. Also seems safer than weighted speed training in terms of injury risk.
I’d be curious to see Matt’s comparative results hitting balls with a controlled swing after going through the program and then another check in later on to see if gains maintained.
