20th century boys (and all his other works) is some of the greatest ever. The way he sets up a mystery that keeps building up, and up and up. The tension is soo thick you can’t put it down. Especially the way he sets up the robot and the haunted house actually makes me insane, how can you do such a thing and still keep it soo tight and interesting?
20th Century Boys and Monster are among the greatest literary works of all time in any genre. The fact they don't fall into the clear "arcs" thing where there are a bunch of unrelated lengthy arcs, but everything thematically relates to the core mystery which is explored in great detail and from many angles, is amazing.
i dont understand a thing thats happening in that manga (or there is nothing more to understand) but im past the timeskip and had it in hold for months. gotta start reading it again
Helck is actually beautiful. It was the first manga I read that had a male and female protagonist whose relationship was entirely platonic and I loved it.

Because the creator has built it up so nicely. Also going from simpler art to more detailed and realistic when doing more serious story-beats is a brilliant story telling tool
I would pay actual money to see manga narrated and presented like you did for pandemonium. That was SICK. I truly believe this is the next level of graphic story telling. Just imagine if your bluetooth enabled e reader would be able to display text and images panel by panel to you with voice over. Oh baby i would love that .

I have 9 of the 'I am a Hero' Omnibus books and they no longer sell the last 2 and don't seem to be doing any reprints. I could easily read the rest online but I am too stubborn to do so, I don't tend to collect books but this is the one series I did. One day I will get those 2 books and then I will find peace. Anyway this video is very useful, a lot to check out that sound interesting!

This video introduced me to Kurosawa in the fall of last year. The ending alone has stuck with me months after my initial reading. His character progression was some of the greatest feel good moments for me as a reader especially after reading Kaiji. Truly a beautiful experience.

This wasn't a Top 10 list. This was a masterpiece of a video. From the expert editing, the voice overs, the explaination, to the weaving of complex descriptions with such delicacy and grace that made me leap from my seat wanting to read each of these mangas. Funny story : actually I've never heard of claymore, let alone watched or read it, but I keep finding myself looking at it's cover whenever I browse through the action genre manga/anime. One day my friend asks me what is good anime that's not mainstream but you know good and I just half-heartedly answer him "claymore, try claymore" of course, in my head I add "so if it's shit I don't have to sit back watching shit show and if it's good, then good for you". He ended up reading the manga a week later and it baffled me because by this point in time I have stopped watching anime and started reading mangas and novels but my friend never once read a manga even though I have recommended him a lot of good stuff, he doesn't even read his first anime the 7ds. I was like "what're you doing? You don't read things, you watch those!!" And he was like "man, your recommendation is so good I can't get enough just from the anime. I want more. You know my taste very well" and I shamelessly said "uh huh, that's why we're friends right?"

I'm so glad someone is talking about Onani Master Kurosawa. It's a manga I was recommended a while ago, loved it, but it's such a weird premise that it's hard to recommend to others. The person who told me about it said it was good and to go into it with no knowledge about it, which was a good decision because I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise
So I recently finished Holyland and I kinda gotta talk about the experience. It was some of the best I've read. The characters are lovable and the development they go through is insane. But since I've read something by the same author, I decided to look him up and I found something that put me to tears. Author of Holyland, Mori Kouji, was a long life friend of Kentaro Miura. Miura wanted to live with Kouji after his retirement and wanted Kouji to make an autobiography about their friendship once Miura retired, and after Miura's passing, Kouji decided to make the autobiography about their 40 years of being friends. I'm really looking forward to it, and if you enjoy any of the works by these authors, I more than hope you enjoy it too.

Glad Helck is getting boosted that shit is one of my fav manga of all time easily. After I finished it I cried and then sat I my chair staring at the ceiling for like an hour. One of the best written characters and stories in the medium.
Truly happy seeing Holyland getting the recognition it truly deserves. Amazing manga with an amazingly written MC and excellently thought out fights. A masterpiece indeed.
Helck is... it looks like a dark fantasy at first and certainly has lots of dark moments, but with all that trauma and psychological complxities, there is also HYPE!!! The action is fantastic, the characters are more than just tragic plot devices, and the story is immaculate. Also, the author is currently writing another series that I believe takes place in the same world(or an alternate setting but it strongly resembles the world of Helck).
Ngl I started Helck a couple of days ago and I'm absolutely having a blast with it. The world opens up after a while and it's just amazing plot with characters one can genuinely care about and the sweet sweet action. It is amazing!

First time seeing Helck anywhere at all. Neat. You ever see a story where you'd be fine just seeing general day-to-day stuff? Helck (and the recently started sequel) fit that, as the day-to-day is more interesting in such a setting, the presentation of characters (both in art and writing) is neat and it earns it after everything that happens.
Yes, Helck is amazing. I was positively impressed of the deep characterization of Helck and when you learn about his back story, it hits you really hard. Is a shame it doesn't have an official english translation.

I love the fact that you used Tristan's theme for Claymore, because I've been saying since the day D3 came out that the Demon Hunter origin lore is straight up the story of a Claymore. This manga is one of the most underrated stories there is. Clare is one of my favorite fiction characters ever and I owe her character the name of many game characters of mine. Also, the conclusion is very good and makes you satisfied while also making you imagine the unexplored possibilities of that world, while being totally fine with not knowing about it.
After watching this video, I decided to read them in order, omitting the ones I've already read. Just finished reading Helck and holy poop... I wasn't expecting to get emotionally invested in a story that started so lighthearted and goofy. The ideals and doubts that motivate Helck are so well written and understandable, that I couldn't help but to want to see him succeed no matter how overpowered he seemed to be. I read Onani Master Kurosawa around ten years ago, and it has always stayed with me. Sure, the early premise was weird, but I never expected that I'd been in for such an introspective ride. People should definitely give this a try. I finished all chapters in one sitting. Very good stuff.

I’m reading 20th century boys right now, and I can confidentially say that it’s the best manga I’ve ever read. With the thumbnail putting the Friend center picture, I know I can definitely trust you in this video lol
Check out Naoki urasawas other work for sure if you love 20th century Boys. Most are on par with it but some can be argued to he as good as 20th century boys. There's Monster, a story that I really just don't wanna spoil but is essentially a redemption/revenge mystery about a doctors life long regret of saving the wrong patient which is the catalyst for the story and main mystery. Billy Bat which is a mystery series about a Japanese American cartoonist in the 50s that was brought to the attention that his Billy bat comic may in fact be accidentally inspired by a similar Japanese manga so he goes to Japan to get the mangakas approval to continue his work. This begins the unraveling of conspiracy so vast that it's origins aren't fully known revolving around a simple bat symbol. Pluto which is a retelling of an arc from astroboy which follows a machine detective that is investigating the murder of one of the very few great wonder machines of the world. Machines so powerful that only a couple were allowed to be produced to halt a war that was fought under the premise that the enemies had WMDs. After which their creation was halted as they were too dangerous and unnecessary for the peaceful times the world entered. There's also master Keaton which I haven't read a lot of but it's about a ex SAS insurance investigator solving insurance fraud mysteries. As well as asadora! Which I haven't read yet because I'm waiting for more to release. He's also done a bunch of one shots.

All 4 of those works are some of the greatest Mangas I've ever read all with probably the most interesting mysteries I've read. Especially Billy bat which was a fucking RIDE.
If character means being able to fight, then sure. But they don't really have much development or feel very fleshed out. Not that they're bad, just decent at best.
i read "i am a hero" without knowing anything and was blown away . I think it is quite underrated and saw nobody review about it. It's feels nice and beautiful to see someone appreciate this good piece of work.
The fact that Helck has been sort of obscure for as long as it has been still surprises me. Easily the best manga I've read. And now the author is finally putting out the sequel. Also maybe now I won't be able to count with my fingers how many people have read Pandemonium.
i think it had a small boom back when kissmanga was a thing still, it had a few million views on their and it kept showing up on the front page due to lots of updates
When it comes to some of these stories like Akumetsu, it makes me think on how these authors wanted to tell this story and how they know so much about the situation. It probably comes form them personally which gets me invested in the creator.
I watched the Claymore anime and got invested into the story. The manga was 100 times better(even though the anime was made by Madhouse in their prime). The world building is similar to Attack on Titan but Claymore did it first.

To add one more that I personally adore, try reading Ran to Haiiro no Sekai. It's so pretty. The villain is a bit of a creep, but overall the series is just so filled with clear-eyed innocence. An ended story that I think most will never notice.

I have 9 of the 'I am a Hero' Omnibus books and they no longer sell the last 2 and don't seem to be doing any reprints. I could easily read the rest online but I am too stubborn to do so, I don't tend to collect books but this is the one series I did.
One day I will get those 2 books and then I will find peace.

This video introduced me to Kurosawa in the fall of last year. The ending alone has stuck with me months after my initial reading. His character progression was some of the greatest feel good moments for me as a reader especially after reading Kaiji.

This wasn't a Top 10 list. This was a masterpiece of a video. From the expert editing, the voice overs, the explaination, to the weaving of complex descriptions with such delicacy and grace that made me leap from my seat wanting to read each of these mangas.

Funny story : actually I've never heard of claymore, let alone watched or read it, but I keep finding myself looking at it's cover whenever I browse through the action genre manga/anime. One day my friend asks me what is good anime that's not mainstream but you know good and I just half-heartedly answer him "claymore, try claymore" of course, in my head I add "so if it's shit I don't have to sit back watching shit show and if it's good, then good for you". He ended up reading the manga a week later and it baffled me because by this point in time I have stopped watching anime and started reading mangas and novels but my friend never once read a manga even though I have recommended him a lot of good stuff, he doesn't even read his first anime the 7ds. I was like "what're you doing? You don't read things, you watch those!!" And he was like "man, your recommendation is so good I can't get enough just from the anime. I want more. You know my taste very well" and I shamelessly said "uh huh, that's why we're friends right?"

I'm so glad someone is talking about Onani Master Kurosawa. It's a manga I was recommended a while ago, loved it, but it's such a weird premise that it's hard to recommend to others. The person who told me about it said it was good and to go into it with no knowledge about it, which was a good decision because I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise
So I recently finished Holyland and I kinda gotta talk about the experience. It was some of the best I've read. The characters are lovable and the development they go through is insane. But since I've read something by the same author, I decided to look him up and I found something that put me to tears. Author of Holyland, Mori Kouji, was a long life friend of Kentaro Miura. Miura wanted to live with Kouji after his retirement and wanted Kouji to make an autobiography about their friendship once Miura retired, and after Miura's passing, Kouji decided to make the autobiography about their 40 years of being friends. I'm really looking forward to it, and if you enjoy any of the works by these authors, I more than hope you enjoy it too.

Helck is... it looks like a dark fantasy at first and certainly has lots of dark moments, but with all that trauma and psychological complxities, there is also HYPE!!! The action is fantastic, the characters are more than just tragic plot devices, and the story is immaculate. Also, the author is currently writing another series that I believe takes place in the same world(or an alternate setting but it strongly resembles the world of Helck).
Ngl I started Helck a couple of days ago and I'm absolutely having a blast with it. The world opens up after a while and it's just amazing plot with characters one can genuinely care about and the sweet sweet action. It is amazing!

First time seeing Helck anywhere at all. Neat. You ever see a story where you'd be fine just seeing general day-to-day stuff? Helck (and the recently started sequel) fit that, as the day-to-day is more interesting in such a setting, the presentation of characters (both in art and writing) is neat and it earns it after everything that happens.
Yes, Helck is amazing. I was positively impressed of the deep characterization of Helck and when you learn about his back story, it hits you really hard. Is a shame it doesn't have an official english translation.

Great music choose for Pandemonium: Majutsushi no Mura. The manga does give off that Hollow Knight feel.
I love the fact that you used Tristan's theme for Claymore, because I've been saying since the day D3 came out that the Demon Hunter origin lore is straight up the story of a Claymore. This manga is one of the most underrated stories there is. Clare is one of my favorite fiction characters ever and I owe her character the name of many game characters of mine. Also, the conclusion is very good and makes you satisfied while also making you imagine the unexplored possibilities of that world, while being totally fine with not knowing about it.

After watching this video, I decided to read them in order, omitting the ones I've already read. Just finished reading Helck and holy poop... I wasn't expecting to get emotionally invested in a story that started so lighthearted and goofy. The ideals and doubts that motivate Helck are so well written and understandable, that I couldn't help but to want to see him succeed no matter how overpowered he seemed to be.

I read Onani Master Kurosawa around ten years ago, and it has always stayed with me. Sure, the early premise was weird, but I never expected that I'd been in for such an introspective ride. People should definitely give this a try. I finished all chapters in one sitting. Very good stuff.

I’m reading 20th century boys right now, and I can confidentially say that it’s the best manga I’ve ever read. With the thumbnail putting the Friend center picture, I know I can definitely trust you in this video lol
I have been reading 20th century boys since 2016 and re read it every year, it still one of the greatest story I have the privilege to witnessed it.
Check out Naoki urasawas other work for sure if you love 20th century Boys. Most are on par with it but some can be argued to he as good as 20th century boys.
There's Monster, a story that I really just don't wanna spoil but is essentially a redemption/revenge mystery about a doctors life long regret of saving the wrong patient which is the catalyst for the story and main mystery.
Billy Bat which is a mystery series about a Japanese American cartoonist in the 50s that was brought to the attention that his Billy bat comic may in fact be accidentally inspired by a similar Japanese manga so he goes to Japan to get the mangakas approval to continue his work. This begins the unraveling of conspiracy so vast that it's origins aren't fully known revolving around a simple bat symbol.
Pluto which is a retelling of an arc from astroboy which follows a machine detective that is investigating the murder of one of the very few great wonder machines of the world. Machines so powerful that only a couple were allowed to be produced to halt a war that was fought under the premise that the enemies had WMDs. After which their creation was halted as they were too dangerous and unnecessary for the peaceful times the world entered.
There's also master Keaton which I haven't read a lot of but it's about a ex SAS insurance investigator solving insurance fraud mysteries. As well as asadora! Which I haven't read yet because I'm waiting for more to release. He's also done a bunch of one shots.

The fact that Helck has been sort of obscure for as long as it has been still surprises me. Easily the best manga I've read. And now the author is finally putting out the sequel.

When it comes to some of these stories like Akumetsu, it makes me think on how these authors wanted to tell this story and how they know so much about the situation. It probably comes form them personally which gets me invested in the creator.

I watched the Claymore anime and got invested into the story. The manga was 100 times better(even though the anime was made by Madhouse in their prime). The world building is similar to Attack on Titan but Claymore did it first.

To add one more that I personally adore, try reading Ran to Haiiro no Sekai.
It's so pretty. The villain is a bit of a creep, but overall the series is just so filled with clear-eyed innocence.
An ended story that I think most will never notice.

Big ups for Onani Master Kurosawa. I reread it about once a year or so, and it's still as good as it was the first time.
