My cousin has been asking me to help her set up a 20L or 40B and I think we're going to do something similar to this. Softies and just a few fish and inverts. One thing I would suggest for people that want to go this route is that AquaClear filters are very customizable and versatile. There's enough space in a AC70-110 to run filter floss for mechanical filtration, chaeto for natural nutrient reduction as well as bio media and or a small heater. Also they sell 3D printed surface skimmer attachments for the AquaClear that makes it run like a overflow which takes care of all your surface scum.
I have a simple pico reef
5.8 Waterbox
AC50 with rings and chemipure blue
Kessil a80 blue
Xenia, GSP, Leathers, favia, mushrooms and a Duncan
Darwin clown
A few inverts
Super easy and low maintenance, I haven’t done a WC in months
I dose with reef plus and add phylogreens. That’s it. It’s probably my easiest tank
Secheam tidal filters are pretty good
Hi bro, could you give me the link to the lamp you bought for your aquarium?
a.co/d/005FkNXu there you go my friend!
Does the purple up really work ? Ive had my tank running 8 months no caroline algae whatsoever. I have purple rocks though just to make it look better from the start.
Purple rocks are always a go too, they still give off that coraline algae look to the rocks. It does work once you get past the ugly stage of the cycling process which includes the brown diatom then green algae faze, after that coraline algae starts to grow then you use purple up. I just put mine in early to help speed the process because the rocks I used already had beneficial bacteria on them before I put them into this new tank.
