Such an amazing event! I’m a 76 year old Florida man, living in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. I’ve followed the Revival for years, and finally fulfilled the dream of attending in 2023. It was more than I could have imagined! Love the coverage you’ve provided!

hi mate, great event again! I must come over next year for some of them. So many nice cars and bikes. I was quiet busy last weeks, next week it all calmed down finely. We must find a date to have some good days to spend. Keep in tough👍

5:37 Max and Ina Balchowky's homebuilt "junk yard dog" was a cult favorite in Cailfornia. it raced against and some times beat the best of the pedigreed European sportscars. happy to see it at Goodwood.

Nothing beats The Revival Meeting. Watched all the racing on the Goodwood Channel on YT. Excellent coverage and superb commentary on the best cars and racing around. With regards to the guys talking about removing fibreglass from the bonnet: You can heat up the work with a normal domestic iron on hot and it will come apart easily, as the epoxy melts. It is quite safe to do this, I have done it during a couple of boat restorations and to correct a mistake on a mast I made for a scratch build I am doing. Hope this helps.

@@oakswamp I marshalled at Goodwood a couple of times for the Tunbridge Wells MC, it is just like going back in time. You only see a very small part of the circuit. Going around the paddock and seeing all your heroes is the way to do it.

@@oakswamp lol. That was the original advertising slogan in Australia. There was the Austin Lancer and the Morris Major. They were slightly bigger than the equivalent Wolseley 1500 and Riley 1.5 and had a 1620cc engine developed in Australia. They have lots of potential for development…
ah yes sorry, I get what you mean....that Austin was reaally cool , i chatted to the owner for a while ...had an 1800 cc motor in it , 160 hp as i remember...

I love Goodwood , watch it every year on CZcams. Someday I'm going to come check it out in person. That and the Isle of Man, definitely bucket list events.

A few years back i did some work on a J 2 Allard .
From what I've learned the body and chassis were made on your side of pond and shipped here to be fitted with a Cadillac engine or Chrysler Hemi .
The one I was involved with had the 354 Hemi and 4 speed gear box .
I was hoping to see some in this video .

Used to go all the time, went last yr for first time in yrs and it was all the same😢.. I usually go Thursday as cheaper and less crowds but obvs less track action if that's what you want.

Actually, my 15th revival this year, and I would says its gone down hill, bugger all aircraft, no acrobatics, not much of a varation in races categories, and a lot of noisy music going on, strikes me a lot of people are here for a party, rather than the petrol.

Just to put your mind at rest, as you may or may not know, the Goodwood Revival event embraces the era from the 30’s to the late 60s (give or take a few years)
If you’ve ever attended, you’ll know that it’s customary to dress in appropriate period clothing (if you want to). Outfits from those decades are typically related to all walks of life, whether that’s military, motorsport, working class, middle class, aristocracy etc etc…….The badge on my cutoff is typically reminiscent of early motorcycle gang attire, typically being worn by ex-servicemen who transferred their spoils of war onto their clothing. This is commonplace in the 50’s/60’s especially in the counter culture movement on the west coast of America, that then spread throughout the land and abroad.
The Revival acknowledges this movement, a movement that had absolutely no affiliation to any political or ideological stance from which such symbols originated. It was a rebellious gesture from a generation of individuals who did not want to comply with the society that was fast evolving. Historic photographs demonstrate this, as you’ll find from a google search.
Also for information, the badge is not a Luftwaffe symbol, it is a standard German Infantryman badge cut from a POW tunic in France. The badge was taken by my ex-wifes great uncle, and eventually ended up with me. I wear it to the Revival every year.
I hope that satisfies your curiosity, I’m not sure whether you’re just inquisitive, or whether you’re perhaps somehow offended, or even one of those people who just feels that they should be offended and say something. I’d like to think that the calibre of folk subscribing to Oak Swamp are the kind of people who don’t go trolling for debate, and are more passionate about the cars, engineering, the culture, the music and the people, and not looking to stir the sh1t. Stirring the sh1t is fine, as long as you’re willing to lick the spoon
