That tax on the cars in absolutely next level. My car costs currently €8.000 in European second-hand car markets, very low emissions it has. The exact same car costs second-hand in Denmark €18.000 . If I were to bring my car into Denmark, they'd valuate the car compared to the Danish market, tax it monstrously and add that 25% VAT. I would have to pay approximately €12.600 , just in registration taxes with VAT... more than the real value of the car. My mind is blown.
It's insane
Great vid. Would be great if you could do a video on Tax Deductible for Freelancers in Denmark. Keep up the good work!
Oh Man, Lovely Video this one! Makes you take out an excel sheet if you are an expat and do calculations to see if the fresh and very expensive air of denmakr is worth breathing haha
Does the Car Registration Tax (registreringsafgiften) also apply when purchasing a used car, where the previous owner had already registered the car in Denmark - and they (or a dealer) are just transferring the registration to you? Basically, does every subsequent owner of a used car have to pay a registration tax EACH time the car transfers ownership?
I ask because, here in Netherlands - the 'registration tax' only applies when the car is first registered in NL (so for a new car or a used car imported from abroad), but if you buy a used car that was already registered, then you don't pay the registration tax again - and only pay the quarterly emission tax. I was under the impression that Denmark might be similar, but not sure.
Didn't research this, maybe someone else can give input?
For high paid employees, what scheme were you referring to reduce the income tax? For pension, can you make a separate video? I am not clear about the pension in Denmark. Thank you
Just google Denmark expat scheme, for pension later this year
I have accepted a job in Denmark. I will be speaking to a financial advisor once I get there, but I'm looking at all the taxes payable and now I'm shitting myself that my UK pension savings (which I won't be able to access for many many years), will be taxed in Denmark. I've tried to find the answer on this, but do you know if Denmark generally taxes overseas pensions (that you're not yet able to withdraw from).
I heard from people that this can be super complex. Good luck!
Do you have a video or maybe can tell me what is the taxation in Denmark for drop-shipping business model? Cause I found it's crazy. 25% VAT, 46% income + state tax, then there's the costs of ads, product etc. Making the idea of ecommerce impossible in Denmark. I was looking to get clarification for this. Thanks.
I don't know, but it's hard to do business here :(
Hi Mario. Can you tell me yet if the exit tax is also applicable in the case when you sell a house/flat in Denmark and you want to take that money and move out of the country?
The sale of your primary residence is not taxed hence not a problem
Thanks for a quick answer. It helps a lot :)@@MarioScianHQ
I still wonder how one can see so many big range rovers in certain areas (nord sjealand fancy places…) I can’t even imagine how much these cars cost… I am under the special tax scheme and I never felt so poor…
People use credit a lot
As far as I am aware exit taxes are similar in Spain and other parts of the world. Even the US have their own exit taxes and if you have a US Passport you always have to pay federal income taxes, even if you are resident, let’s say, in Denmark.
True, the exit tax is becoming a thing more and more, though Denmark is quite aggressive on the unrealized gains on investments, don't know about other places
Hi Mario, what will be the consequences if we edit the tax in the wrong way?
You can get fined
With sales tax it is not 25% of total value.. it’s 25% value added tax. So if the computer is worth 8.000kr there is 25% of that value added to a total of 10.000kr. This means that at the tax is 20% of the total amount you paid. I.e. 2.000kr tax out of 10.000kr total
Yup, exactly. Fail in basic math :P
Yes - Should've phrased it better, I pay VAT on sales myself 😀
@@MarioScianHQ I've tought math to teenagers the last 15 years, and this something they always struggle with :)
Mario what does that title say? :D
haha fixed it now omg fail
Freelancer vs Benefits of setting up your own business would also be great
My online courses touch on that (or will touch on)
What is the scheme called for Expats earning over 80K per month?
Google Denmark expat scheme and it will show up
Can you make about cryptocurrency in denmark?
I touched about it in previous videos
As a dane, I am proud of the tax we pay here!!
Great for you
The only thing you can do in Denmark with investing is buy stocks and never sell and take portfolio loans
I want to make videos about that - it's a smart point
