Yeah he has some of the coolest combos in the game when he has orb or spark bombs and has a lot of unique options that most characters don’t have access to. It’s just that people tend to play wizard as strictly a zoner which is ok ,but he has the ability to do so much more than spam magic darts all game

I think you should have explained DI and how important it is. It may look menacing but it's very easy to explain. DI influences how you move when you get hit. You control it by moving dot at the center. You move dot by clicking anywhere on the circle(blue circle that has DI written above it). If dot is at the center it does nothing if it's on the right side of the circle you move more to the right when getting hit. I think you can guess what hapens when dot is at the left side of the circle. DI is important to explain because it gives something to do when getting comboed and you can mindgame by predicting what moves enemy does to get most distance.
For newer players:
DI just influences the direction you are knocked back when hit, making it much harder to combo you. It is more important to understand then Burst. Just setting it away from the opponent is good enough to start with.
Free cancels let you cancel and attack if it misses, instead of going into long punishable recovery animations. Do not turn it off when you are new, it requires an understanding of the game to know when you can take that risk.
Whiff cancel lets you cancel the recovery if you turned free cancel off, costing most of the Burst bar - but takes away your defencive options. Do not touch it, i see a lot of beginners using it badly.
I've seen so many begginers use whiff cancels in the absolutely worst way possible, LIKE BITCH I HAD 1 FRAME, I COULDN"T PUNISH YOU IN ANY WAY, WHY TF DID YOU WHIFF CANCEL TO TAKE AWAY ALL YOUR DEFENSE AND GET ACTIONABLE IN *2*.
