  • “I don’t feel like I have to become some kind of star in my home country. I feel more that it’s important for me to travel and make a difference [through music] in the rest of the world.” - Elize Ryd
    It was a great pleasure meeting and talking to the very talented Elize Ryd of Swedish heavy metal/metalcore heavy-weights Amaranthe. Elize elaborated on how satisfying her musicality by collaborating in different projects can have an impact on her individual brand as a singer or songwriter. Furthermore, she explained which opportunities social media bring to artists these days, and we compared releasing an album through crowdfunding or going with a music label. And, if you like modern hands-on rock and metal, check out the band's brand-new album Maximalism and go see them live!

    I'm sure it is hard, but not to name drop Cristina Scabbia, who has most assuredly worked harder than Amy Lee to get into the mainstream, is a bit of disappointment. However regardless, Elize Ryd is a fantastic vocalist and is getting better and better and Amaranthe is also progressing. Hopefully Jake E isn't going to leave the band. Either way, congrats to Elize and Amaranthe for kicking the doors off metal and being mega successful.

    Metalcore?

    • @FromHerotoZero
      @FromHerotoZero  Před 7 lety

      +ANT-METAL Well, Amaranthe includes many different influences and their style can't definitely be defined. Metalcore was the closest definition in our opinion. But we're cool with any other definition. What would style would you say does Amaranthe fit into? /Sebi

    • @VenomtailMusic
      @VenomtailMusic Před 7 lety +2

      Problem with Amaranthe is indeed many styles, they have pop, bit of metalcore, rock, disco sometimes and then you have some ballads as well. I think the overal style you could say Amaranthe is "popmetal" or something. Because even though some songs are near metalcore, the chorus is nearly always a catchy poppy chorus.

    • @FromHerotoZero
      @FromHerotoZero  Před 7 lety +1

      +Venomtail Well explained. I guess not being able to concretely defining their music style adds to the uniqueness of Amaranthe. Very good move from their side. /Sebi

    • @FromHerotoZero
      @FromHerotoZero  Před 6 lety +8

      The vocalists you mentioned are great indeed. Without going into technical ability of singers, I can say, though, that Elize is one of my favourite female metal singers and songwriters from what I consider ‘modern metal’. I’m especially impressed with her creativity and versatility. This, however, is a personal preference and shall not take away anything from any of the above-mentioned fantstic vocalists ✌️🙂 / Sebi
