  • Installing the jib on the Tadano 180g-5. In this video, we are installing the 43 foot swing away jib on the crane. We needed the jib in order to reach a 205 foot radius.

    This is why I like CZcams. I get to see things I would never see in the real world. I always wondered how you install a jib, move the cable. I didn't think about the wind indicator. Keep 'em coming.

      snakerancher, it is amazing just how much diversity there is on CZcams. I honestly think there is a video for anything someone wants to see. If there's anything that pertains to the crane that you want to see in the future, let me know. I'll try to get it in a video for you. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍

    Nice video Jimmy! That’s a pretty complex jib system on that thing. I used to help operators swing out the jib all the time but on much simpler systems. Usually cranes in the 40-70t range. I like that when you finished and we’re walking back toward the cab you kinda physically touched and checked all the connections one more time just to make sure nothing was forgotten. Good practice. 👍👍

    • @ToTheTopCrane
      @ToTheTopCrane  Před 5 lety +2

      psidvicious, the jib is pretty complex. But, the hydraulic luffer is fantastic. Anytime we put jib on any crane that I am around, before it booms up, I walk the length and check everything. It would be catastrophic if something was missed. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍

    Nice job Jimmy. sure is a lot of work to put the jib on and you need quite a bit of room to make it happen. I like that you put your hand on everything thats been removed and reconnected so you know its good. I work pipeline and at the end of the day i do the same thing and touch every valve plug of whatever else to be sure its tight and put back the way its supposed to be. Easy way to make sure nothing gets forgotten and I like to do it with a few guys so more than one set of eyes is on it.

      Rich Wielechowski, maximum radius with the main boom is 183 feet. With the 43 foot swing away jib, it's 223 feet. With 103 feet of jib the maximum radius is 249 feet. I'd have to have the load charts in front of me to tell you the different capacities. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍

  • @Newberntrains
    @Newberntrains Před 5 lety +1

    Wow am very surprised it's that complex to swing out the jib was thinking cool beat a pin move the sheaves and rope press a button jib swings into place and locks in
    Guess this way it's impossible to accidentally move the jib cause u need your whole support crew to make it move

    When you brought it upto 100bar minimum before swinging the jib does that keep pressure in the ram of the jib even once you disconnect the hydraulic lines and swing it and stop it from falling yes? Thanks mate
