  • I've Travelled a lot in Bulgaria, I've seen a lot of Villages and these two have to be the Most Beautiful Villages in the Whole of `Bulgaria, and they are right here in the Rhodope Mountains
The Rhodope Mountain range are one of the proud points for Bulgarians, with it vast beauty and Mysterious parts from east to west.
Many Bulgarian Villages are run down, and not many people care about the look of them. Due to a lack of money and a higher cost of living the villages in Bulgaria usually get neglected.
You have to make your own world within your own space Beautiful.
But in this two Bulgarian Villages, i have to say hats off to the pride and community services, all house built in the same style and renovated to the same standard they were built in. This really shows in the Beauty of the villages. Even down to the roads.....which is often an issue even in big cities in Bulgaria.
If you dig a little deep there is a lot more to these villages that help to add the Bulgarian history and their struggle against the Turks.

We haven't been to that side of the Rhodope, but we spent a wonderful time in and around Trigrad several years ago. A couple of wonderful caves, and a harrowing jeep ride up the Eagles Eye.

To your question where we prefer to go on vacation, I will tell you my opinion now: 1. Bulgarians living in the interior of the country go on vacation during the summer season at sea, and during the winter season - go to the mountains. 2. Foreigners who come to tourism in Bulgaria, go more to the mountains to ski during their vacation, but the sea in summer is not attractive to them, except for British young people looking for cheap alcohol and flash.
we, the locals from Bulgaria, go everywhere in our country and know its beauties, but we do not have the skills to make good hotels like B&B - bed and breakfast, because we are very lazy and do not want to waste on other people to make them nice and fine. When you understand this, you will understand exactly what the mantles of today's and the old Bulgarian individual are.
